Early Access Review
I feel like the best way to describe this game is by using other games. (coincidentally all games I love lol)

The sea combat is almost identical to AC:Black Flag(even the camera angle and how your captain can let go of the steering wheel whenever you want). The crew management feels very similar to Pixel Piracy, I can be quite upset when a specific crewmember that I have had for awhile dies. The faction system reminds me a lot of Mount & Blade:Warband. Factions can start wars with each other, ally, and control sections of the sea in what seems almost a capture the flag style just have a lot of ships in a section of the sea and that faction controls it (can even happen with orcs and pirates and the like taking a section of the sea from a faction). The map and supply and demand trading system remind me of Sid Meiers: Pirates, as do the graphics (although it has been years since I played that game.)

You can make a living working for a specific faction, or buying low selling high, taking sides in wars or playing both sides. The whole world is your oyster and it's set in a awesome Warhammer universe. As a fan the amount of detail put into the different factions and their ships/character models as well as the map size and locations I really feel like I am in the Warhammer universe exploring and discovering for myself. Not to mention all the things that universe brings to the table that other games could never do (because who else would make a fantasy pirate game with wizards and rat men) like having a wizard on your ship or a pegasus rider defending it (or both), magic swords and sea monsters.

Overall I strongly reccomend it to anyone who enjoys Warhammer or open world sailing games (Wind Waker, Sid Meiers: Pirates, AC: Black Flag, Pixel Pirates, etc. . .). As a person who usually goes by the rule of thumb that I want to pay less than 1$/hr spent playing a video game I consider this game to have high value. I know I will play it for a long long time well after they stop updating.

Does anyone actually like this game more than the original? because I sure don't. whenever I play this game i inevitably open audiosurf 1 after a couple songs and play it twice as long. I never play more than a song or two but I have over 20 hours on the original compared to less than 2 on this. if this was the only game I would probably recommend it, but in light of the original being such a superior product I have to give a thumbs down

I pre-ordered. Have tried the game every few updates. This is another case of devs more focused on adding new content than fixing existing content. Bugs that have existed for years across multiple updates are never mentioned as even being looked into (such as the invisible exocraft bug). Instead they pile more and more and more content onto the game until you aren't even sure how to achieve any of the new content described in the patches, cause the requirements are almost always to have completed previous content fully. I wish just one of these huge updates would be, "We didn't really add anything but we fixed 1000s of bugs!!" because at this state the game still feels unfinished 6 years later.

This was my original review thumbs up:
100% free, no way to buy any currency or skins or anything at all with real $. I have heard people say this game went free to play so they can make money. I don't understand how that is supposed to work when they won't accept any money for anything whatsoever. Play this game! It's extremely fun and free. Plus if you are toxic and hate teams you can just main monster and you will be happy too! Truely a game for everyone.

EDIT:
The new silver key prices are beyond ridiculous i don't even feel compelled to try and i own half the characters already. totally ruined the sense of progression

I love it. Always come back to it. Feels like guitar hero with a mouse (99.9% of my playtime is Mono Pro or Ninja Mono). Every time I try to play Audiosurf 2 I just end up opening this game after one song. If you are trying to decide between Audiosurf 1&2 I would recommend this one 1000x more.

I bought the Global Megalord edition awhile ago on sale and read the comic and art book(Which were both pretty good/funny) but then today the DLC came out and I got it for free(thanks guys!!) so I decided to watch the "making of documentary" that came with it while I ate my supper. Lo and behold it's the 2nd best part of this whole bundle (besides the game itself) and I ended up laughing out loud at least 5 times while watching it. Love the humor of this game and the people who made it. Really makes this game shine. I recommend to everyone (i guess except for children)

All the reviews that say controllers don't work or that there are lag spikes, I don't see any of that. Using a standard Xbox 360 controller. Feels a lot like Darksiders, except older. Very PS2. Reminds me of Jak and Daxter just the way there are giant stone stairs that you have to jump up or down as the only way to travel in a few places lol imagine living somewhere you had to climb even 5 steps like that every day
