Returnal is quite possibly my favorite game in the last decade, and definitely in my top 10 of all time

One of the best games on PS5 and the port to PC is mostly perfect, with some minor technical issues that can hopefully be ironed out with some updates (I've completed the first act of the game and had some occasional stuttering and frame drops, but nothing game-breaking).

In my opinion, this game is a masterclass in every aspect. Gameplay, level design, sound design, storytelling, etc. are all phenomenal.

I HIGHLY recommend anyone playing the game to please finish the game completely (all endings, and the tower of sysiphus DLC adds a lot more context but not super necessary) and really pay attention to all the small details before critiquing the story. It is confusing at first, but they do a great job at pulling the major pieces together by the end, while leaving some of it up for interpretation. Almost the whole game has parallels to Greek mythology which may help in your understanding as well.

Even though the game is still in early access at this point, it is one of the best rogue-like games I've played. Lots of variety with the weapons and boons so each run feels different, and you always feel like you're making progress towards something, even if you don't complete a run. I can't wait for future updates and the full release.
