There once was a time in which I would highly recommend this game to anyone. The perfect sequel, took a game that was originally 2D and perfectly translated itself into 3D seamlessly. I could spend my entire day playing this game away and just enjoying it the entire time. But this gem of an indie game eventually sold to a bigger company and like most games it resulted in its death.

The Risk of Rain 2 that loved and knew is gone with the Seekers of the Storm DLC. Not only did 2K/Gearbox release a lackluster update with items that have barely any synergy, maps that wreck the pacing, and an update with an obscene amount of bugs for a triple a studio, they have shown that they do not fundamentally understand the gameplay loop or what is at the heart of RIsk of Rain 2. This is an embarrassment. Alongside that since they patched the base game so even turning off the DLC content the game is virtually unplayable.

I could've played this game for years to come and would love introducing new and new players to join me. But now I don't want to even look at this game or even boot it up. It feels lifeless with all the charm sucked out of it. I'm sad to see it go, and I hope one day it comes back.
