Early Access Review
At first, I believed this game to be a rehash of Banished, which I loved. While Banished has a TON of building options, Farthest Frontier brings in the raiders. I very much enjoy this aspect! But if I'm being honest, what I really want is a game that has both. Therefore, I believe Farthest Frontier can benefit from bridges, boats, chickens, sheep, pigs, and even more entertainment options.

If I'm being real, I enjoyed the game a lot more with mods. Specifically the ones where I can add items and people on a whim. When entire swaths of people die or abandon me for some stupid reason, my entire economy collapses and I don't enjoy trying to come back from it. I think there can be some balancing done or maybe some gameplay options that allow players to "cheat". The one mod I like the concept of, but never pans out well, is the winter-rotation. I see a bunch of people idling in the off-season. It would be nice if whenever people idle, they labor. This just makes sense. It should be a part of the game.

One thing that bothers me the most is that the gray-cobblestone streets may never match the red-brick decorations. Please... Why do you do this to me?

Also, what is the point of the pretty fences? I've never, never used them. I mean, yeah, they are pretty, but... when will it make sense to use them? Really.

White I'm ranting, some things are just obvious. Like, if I designate a spot for an orchard, OBVIOUSLY I want to plant tree in every part of the work area. Who asked me to manually plant the trees to line up with the circle?

One more, -ONE- more thing and then I'm done. I love the Trading Post, but why does it have to take so long for certain items to come in? I would like to be able to prioritize stock so that I can actually have time to work with the merchants. Maybe let me add more workers for higher tiers? What I ended up having was 20K gold in the bank and 0 in the trading post, but even though I would tell them to put ALL my gold in the trading post, they would never do it. I think they would rather stock pots or something.

Incredibly clever game design mechanic! I'm a huge fan of this game! The only thing that can be better is making it easier to get to the final level without the *shiver* grind~

Despite the occasional stutter and crash, the gameplay is excellent! It's LoZ: BotW on steroids. By that I mean that the game strongly influences your inner desire to explore, and then usually rewards you accordingly.

My only issue is the UX design for when the player first leaves the tutorial (First Step). You are directed northwest, which is story progression, but is also a difficult path. The better, easier path is southeast. Why didn't you influence the player to move southeast if it is the easier path?

I really like the directional beams from certain "graces" that help guide the player to content. The game gives you quite a lot of guidance while still promoting freedom. Very well done!

Side note: Zelda games have occupied my top 10 list for most my life. Now, this game my just break that list.

Small and simple, which is alright for a free game. While there isn't much to it, it still immerses you with the sound changes, making the player feel the anxiety of their character. Some things are a little annoying, like how the phone shakes. And some things I wish were improved, like camera angles, story, and character interaction. The core gameplay, however, is well done.
