This is not really my kind of game. And yet, about every six months, I suddenly become obsessed again. Caves of Qud is *massive* in ways that not many games are; no matter how incredibly overwhelming it can be, I desperately just want to dig deeper into its strangeness.

About seven or eight times while playing I realised I'd become so entranced by Kentucky Route Zero that my head was right up against my monitor. I don't think I've ever had anything latch onto me like this. I will never forget this game.

Does what it says on the tin in many interesting ways. Sure, there are modes where you just quickly type a word, but it iterates that in such cool ways. Oh, and it's bloody cheap. Definitely worth it!

Wow, this game. It's short and sweet, and if I had to seriously consider what made this game so great... It's a game about the joys of music. You 'make' music, which is extremely simple, and it takes zero effort; but you feel great. You can't play the game without smiling and thinking to yourself 'Damn, this sounds pretty good. I'm pretty good. The world is awesome.'
