An incredibly fun card battler. Highly addictive gameplay loop that keeps on giving. Good Shepherd Entertainment really outdone themselves with this one.

I have had the physical board game since 2015 before getting the core game here on steam as well, so my steam playtime is not representative of my total time spent playing this game.

Pros:
- The indie art style of the cards is unique and fun.

- The digital version bypasses the tinkering required to keep track of all the modifiers and health points which is a great quality improvement.

- Multiplayer is fun

- The price point is very accessible

Cons:
- The UI is very slow and sort of non-intuitive. I would even call it unappealing, but I understand they wanted the sort of art direction to match the comic book art cards.

- A lot of clicking cannot be avoided and gets in the way of playing the actual game. Too many pop-ups and animations that break immersion.

- The balance of the game is by the nature of the card game itself very random. Sometimes villains feel way too powerful, other times they will feel like a huge sponge that does nothing until they die. (I have only played the game on standard difficulty)

Overall the game deserves more attention as it has a lot of potential and I'm leaving a thumbs up to support the devs.

Ich habe an diesem Zeitpunkt nur die Version 1.6 gespielt, dass soll wohl berucksichtigt werden. Das Spiel hat ein sehr ähnlichen Vibe zu ´Slay the Spire´ und anderen von diesem Genre. Wenn man das mag, kann ich diesen Titel auch gut empfehlen, sonst nicht, ist auch dieses Spiel zu überspringen.

In a sense it might be even better than it's sequel.

Was good while it lasted, never had the chance to develop a toxic community. All good things come to pass I guess.

A simple, yet addictive roguelike.

Ein grosßartiger Titel im Universum des SteamWorld. Spielt wie ein Metroidvania, doch beeinflusst vom früherigen SteamWorld Dig. Kann es nur empfehlen.

Really hoping for a sequel. Highly enjoyable entry to the SW series.

One of the best immersive sims out there. I think it will be recognized as a classic later down the line. One of my favorite games of the last decade.

Outstanding game, an innovative concept perfectly executed. Highly recommend.
