As a DBD player (5k+ hrs), with 150+ hrs into VHS, I'd suggest giving the game a try. The game itself is one of the only recent asymms that I actually enjoy grinding. The game has great core mechanics, is nice to play solo OR stacked, teen vs. monster is fun competition, the devs are very passionate about their game (they play it a ton, listen to feedback asap, mods are super responsive on twitter/discord, they communicate updates really well, etc.), and the community ties it altogether. I've seen this community blossom from the initial closed beta to now, and the journey has been beautiful.

And I don't usually write reviews either, but I do see lots of people review bombing on the basis that they hate/love DBD competition. It's a shame many first impressions could be based on lies, but the game is free to play with lots of content already. So before you give in, please try it for yourself. This could easily be a new favorite for you! <3
