One of the best metroidvanias ever!

Brilliant!

I am not going to tell you about how good Skyrim is, everyone knows that. I am just going to have a little word about Special Edition. If you had the original game with all the DLC packs, then you got lucky, you would get the Special Edition for free before its release. Otherwise, it will cost you now some unworthy amount of money. They made updated graphics as a main advantage of SE. I am not going to say it will impress you now, of course they made better shadows, sun rays, ambient lighting, now it looks just like in Fallout 4, but all the models and textures are the same. The community have made a lot of graphic mods, ENB, retextures and new models with a much higher quality for the original game. Some players complained about optimization and freezing, thankfully I hadn't that experience, but the game still suffers with gameplay bugs.
So, is Special Edition worth to buy, if you already got the original game? Definitely, it's not.

Темные коридоры, рычаги, кнопки, бочки и коробки… я упоминал рычаги и кнопки? Просто куча рычагов и кнопок! Да, первый анрил при прохождении иногда просто уныл. Однако, не смотря на это, в него все равно хочется играть. У игры неплохой сюжет, шикарный саундтрек, огромное количество оружия, большие уровни, множество всяких тварей и классный для своего времени движок (основной конкурент квэйка), который и совершил прорыв в области трехмерной графики для компьютерных игр, демонстрируя большие открытые пространства, детализированную воду, отражения, тени и цветное освещение. Да, игра сильно устарела, 98-й год как-никак, и нынешние школьники ее не оценят, но любителям олдскула стоит попробовать, особенно, если играли в UT и есть желание погонять мобов с флаком и шоком.
На заметку: если все же решились поиграть, то можете поставить текстуры высокого разрешения, патч 227i, специальный рендер Direct3D 9/10 и ENB освещение, если хотите сделать картинку более приятной для глаз. А еще не выпендривайтесь и не ставьте уровень сложности выше «нормального», иначе от толпы живучих монстров, выдерживающих десять попаданий из рокетлаунчера, отбоя не будет.

Barrels, dark corridors, levers, buttons, boxes… Have I mentioned levers and buttons yet? Tons of levers and buttons! Sometimes this game gets dull because of that. However, you play it again, since the universe is really addicting. ‘’Unreal’’ has a nice plot, marvelous soundtrack, huge amount of different weapons, large levels, lots of creatures and incredible for its time game engine (the strongest rival of ‘quake engine’), which demonstrates its possibilities by showing the large opened areas, detailed water, reflections, shadows and colored lights. Yes, this game is old, it was released in the 1998th year, so I doubt that kids will appreciate at its true value. But if you’re an old school gamer, then you should definitely try this game out, particularly if you have played Unreal Tournament and wish to kick some NPCs’ ass with ‘shock rifle’ and ‘flak cannon’.
Notice: if you decided to play this game, I would recommend you to download high-quality texture pack, Direct3D 9/10, patch 227i and ENB to make the game look better. And don’t try to show off putting difficulty level higher than ‘normal’, otherwise there’ll be tons of badass creatures that will survive about ten rocket explosions.
