A wonderfully sleek and stylish problem-solving game that you can enjoy even if you know next-to-nothing about the logistics of designing a train network.

The list of core gameplay mechanics is pleasingly short - but by no means does Mini Metro lack depth. As the screenshots attest, the seemingly simple act of connecting stations eventually leads to a hectic and definitely unprofessional jumble of lines that you know your polygonal citizens despise with every side of their being.

It's then probably fair to say that the art of this game is building a seamless train network, replicating real-life transit principles a la Cities in Transit or Cities: Skylines... but you can still have an incredibly relaxing time without that stuff. I think this speaks to the approachability of Mini Metro - it's one of the few games in my library that I'd say is equally as fun no matter if your committment to it is 10 minutes on the bus (also on iOS and Android!) or an hour on a rainy evening.

If you're thinking of buying the game, the base price is extremely reasonable, and on sale it's an absolute bargain. If the concept of the game appeals to you, I think you'll be satisfied with your purchase - even if you're only coming back to it every so often for a couple of games at a time.

Unscrupulously doing this for a badge, but nevertheless...

This game is quite strange. Amongst the terrible lag I had when I played there was still fun to be had with a few friends. It is indeed similar at first glance to Overwatch, but the games have a certain difference in feel that's particularly hard to pin down. My initial thought was that Paladins has nowhere near the amount of polish most Blizzard games seem to have, but I don't think that's necessarily what makes the games feel so different.

In any case, the game is pretty fun and if you don't want to fork out stupid amounts of money for Overwatch it's worth a try.
