Well. I generally do not like to diss on the product of other people's hardwork; viz-a-viz negatively criticize a developer's game, but only if I smell a single drop hard work's sweat in the same zip code of the 'product' I am reviewing.

Let me give you a little background, I have spent more than half my childhood playing fighting games on my good old ps2 and the other half I spent tending my sore thumbs after over-playing Fight night games from EA.
With that said you might think I'd compare this game with the Fight Night series but to be honest this is not even a half arsed attempt to make a proper clone of that game.

Anyone wanting to try this game, I'd stop you right there and rather suggest you to try the old Fight night series of Ps2 or Ps3. Off course you'd be downgrading graphically but fighting game's are not just about graphics. The Fight night games of Ps2 will beat this game hands down in every department - other than graphics off course. Speaking of which they aren't really that great to begin with here.

The Good :

┼ The game is on PC. Cheaper than buying an used Ps2 and Fight Night CD's.

┼ Get to pounce a HHH / Kofi Kingston lookalike.

The Bad

┼ Everything.. it's not even an early access game and it has a lot of bugs including getting you and the ai opponent stuck in a groggy state for an entire round and no keys would work - not even the Game pause / ESC key.

┼ A bad re-skin attempt of Fight Night games, the developer must be in the wrong industry, this is NOT the iphone/android game-app market.

The Ugly

┼ Even if I forget every OTHER ugly thing about this game, which includes - but is not limited to : lack of customization for characters, lack of country flags / nationalities etc etc .. despite all that.. the ONE most annoying thing about this game is that it reuses the theme music from Falling Skies (not the game).. albeit a remixed version.. a very annoying remixed version.

┼ My Rating : 1/5 NOT RECOMMENDED Nuff said..

Reseña de CS:GO
This franchise. Starting from Cs 1.6 Cs Source, Cs Online and now Cs Global Offensive. has pretty much defined my entire childhood. To being the coolest kid on the block cuz he can knife anyone, to being called the 'Sniper' by local friends.
Memories from teenage raging days; spending DAYS and WEEKS practicing for local competitive matches to the time when me and my budds went to WCG 2008 (India) to play the nationals. Yeah I can safely say this game has defined my childhood (I m sure many share the same opinion).

I have grown up but I havent stopped playing Counter Strike.

I do recommend this game but be extremely cautious its dangerously addictive.

The Good
    [/h1]
  • Significant graphical improvement of texture quality, models, environments and maps compared to it's predecessors.
  • Intense multiplayer experience (goes without saying).
  • Even though the game is visually modernized and upgraded it still runs very smooth on mediocre hardwares.
  • User customization has been a forte of this franchise and especially for this game.
  • Implementation of community maps and steam workshop items into the game is a revolutionary step by Valve and adds a whole new dimension to this game.

The Bad
  • NO CAMPAIGN !! I really hoped They would bring us a campaign, especially with the cinematic visualization upgrade this time, which would have been well worth the wait; BUT they didnt.
  • Weapon handling : It seems the core engine is still the same and the way every weapon handles has remained unchanged. This is probably because the franchise has been the center game in many competitive leagues and a drastic change in the game's weapons handling system may affect the older players who are switching over from the previous game.
  • They removed the Tactical Shield from this game - Which was an icon for Cs Source and Cs 1.6 despite the lack of presence of that item in competitive modes.
  • Even though they introduced a minor training session there is no single player campaign. Which I think this game really deserves.

The Ugly
  • Its been 2 years since the game was launched yet there are literally thousands of Cs 1.6 players who prefer the older 1.6 over CSGO, primarily due there being no major upgrades in the game engine.
  • Despite valve's anticheat and secured anti hack measures, walling is STILL pervasive among other forms of hacking.

In short Valve gives very little to complain with their launches, ESPECIALLY in the Counter Strike Franchise.

My rating 4.9/5

I am here against all odds to recommend this game to everyone. You will like this game if you are like me and loved reading those detective novels.

The Good
  • Very Cinematic Approach, with a 1st person narration and 3rd person navigation.
  • Quite an intriguing story.
  • Even though the theme is supernatural it doesnt talk about religiousness or any other stupid stuff instead focuses on the characters that are in the game instead.
  • The background score is great along with good voice actors.
  • Very simple controls nothing too fancy considering the fact that this is a ported game from a console version.
The Bad
  • The Story is so condensed that the entire game takes place within a single night. In a sense it is a fast paced game but it doesnt feel like a fast paced game at all. The only other comparable game would be Fahrenheit aka The Indigo Prophecy.
  • You are a ghost, there are a ton of fun stuff you could probably do as a ghost but this game doesnt allow you to fulfill your Hollowman dreams.
  • The Story is very linear, there are no alternate endings, hence its very predictable considering it is a AAA priced game there should have been alternate endings.
  • Limited exploration of the surroundings, you dont get to go everywhere you want. The only reason you get to explore is because you have to collect certain artifacts and items -again- the reward for which is negligible and has no direct relation to the game's storyline.
  • In a way the game does try to teach 'children' about a moral about fulfilling your debts and being honest & things like that, but the developers forgotm kids dont get to spend 50 bucks. Teenagers and Grown up gamers do.
  • You do get to snoop around a little to help a few other souls to 'move on' but it is nearly not enough.
  • I am a DOG person why are there so many cats here and no DOGS in Salem ??

The Ugly
  • There is no denying the fact that the game has a very sloppy game engine. The quadruped animation quality of the cats are less than okay.
  • I was stuck in a limbo / mid air within the first 5 minutes of the game.
  • The lack of action. Despite what the trailer had me believing there is absolutely NO action game play here. The Cut Scene sequences are fun to watch but thats it.
  • There was a million different ways how this game could have been made way better than what it is, the story, the interactivity, the side missions everything felt too little and too less.

I'm the kind of guy that gets a boner and starts to cry as soon as he reads or hears about CSVAHEM, Mars One Project or The Mars Initiative. So obviously when I heard that this game is on steam I knew it that I HAD to HAVE it. And so I did.
Without revealing too much about the game. I will say is that you should definitely give this a try. Its a nice storytelling experience with great music. Something every space exploration enthusiast should aim for.

PS: Aim for the alternate ending.

I dont get it why people get all technical when writing reviews ? Half the stuff they write is already on google / wiki. The Kids reading these reviews get brainwashed into judging a game from someone else's perspective instead of experiencing it themselves. Its like hearing from another guy about how he felt when he kissed your crush lol

As far as the game is concerned there is too much going on at the same time in a single round. IT IS ENJOYABLE. IT IS PLAYABLE. But needs support from better servers which lag less, which is hard for the developers as this is a free to play. They really need to fix their ingame buying menu & need to make it more compatible with steam.

The game does need a better GPU card if you are thinking about jumping into it straight from Cs1.6 or CsOnline.

Apart from that the levels are drawn on the inspiration from Project IGI 2 and are really well designed. I would have enjoyed this game even more if it had a polished open world single player experience. The levels are that beautifully designed.

I paid 0.29 cents on Summer sale 2014 for this game, even if I dont sell the cards, I'd say its more than worth this value just for the music alone.

Besides that, its really a smart game, if I ran a school this is the game I'd let my primary section students fiddle around with.

The Background scores can directly be played (wma) and can be found under local files : Sounds : Songs.

So, tried the game, actually in game waiting for players to load up in a 'Normal game Mode' while I write this.
Right off the bat the first annoying little thing about this game is the windowed lobbied thing, when you are not in a match the entire game is kind of in a windowed mode, its really annoying and usefull at the same time, because as it looks like I could be waiting a long time before a matchmaking actually happens and it saves a lot of CPU resources when you dont have to ALT TAB or window key out of your game.

As far as the graphics are concerned, if your PC is capable of running it in full depth and quality it'll look great, if you have a medium to low end performance PC, it'll look and feel like those TMNT games from PS2.

In all its pretty user friendly, kids in particular will love the default characters which look so much like those Final Fantasy characters.

The in game physics could be a little more realistic but I guess its not worth redoing something if its not broken. The developers really need to stress test the game by bringing in more players after all its a free to play and they dont wanna end up having another 'Tactical Intervention' event.

My rating 2.9/5

Ever since I played Shade which wasn't a big of a game, I've wanted that kinda horror survival story based game that brings "something new to the table"; and let me begin by saying that Alan Wake brings that "something new to the table".
The physics of the game is flawless and since this game was also developed for the console, the developers made sure that the game looked beautiful even though with limited resources, bring all that artisanship into the PC world and you end up with beautifully rendered scenes and levels.

However If you dwelve into the story you will find that some chapters and missions were unnecessarily put in the game to lengthen the gameplay and so it did, but the unnecessary bits arent too boring to feel out of place, the game's chapter based progression gets you all psyched up and ignore the minor boringness that creeps in midway through the storyline. The game's levels are designed to motivate the players complete each chapter rather than solving the whole mystery which is more or less accomplished at the end of the game.

I wont go into the details of the story and create a spoiler for you guys but all I will say however, is that both Alan Wake and it's DLC leaves many questions unanswered and a gaping room for a Sequel and I will definitely buy that sequel.

If you are old school (IGI Days), here's a tip, dont go in like a rambo in Hadcore mode in your first attempt (in solo), YOU WILL DIE.

Besides the difficulty level being too unrealistic for single player modes the entire games gets to a whole new level when co-op/multiplayer is introduced. Especially if you are in a lan party.

This game promises atleast 20+ hours of fun if you play all the default missions from first to last.
And the other modes like VS & Mutation is also worthwhile.

The one thing that I really hated about the game's campaign mode was the lack of a serious story line, this is not at all a realistic zombie apocalypse story in spite of the cinematic cutscenes at the begining of each campaign chapter and the film grain effect. I personally feel that this is the classic hack & slash point & shoot sequel to a classic game and thats about it.

4.1/5 my rating.

WOW. That was the first word that I uttered when I first started the game, the Unreal engine flawlessly renders beautiful medieval landscapes that are really easy on the eyes.

The sad thing about the graphics is that the menus and texts are way too small to read on a 12870/1024 setting and also a bit blurred, and the game starts to severely lag and ping when more than 10 players are in the game - with a game where the sword strike is a double click drag interface this lag proves to be fatal - this gets worse for people from my country as there are no local servers here.

In the end if you have an appetite for indie games and if you can digest a very slow paced ancient game then this is definitely what you need to try at least once, as this game has the power to draw you back for more slash fun. But then again if you are a modern RPG/FPS/RTS/MMORPG player you may not find this game too exciting. There are times when the game 'sounds' exteremely boring and blank, this game definitely does not have the style of play that Skyrim/Dishonored/DMC/Assassin's Creed/Enclave or even the old ones like Shade/POP/Mount&Blade have which has now become the staple of most medieval games.

3.8/5 is my rating.
