4D golf is a great couple of hours in an interesting twist on a tried formula. For most of the time, it can be played as a simple 3D golf via the volume view, however verticality such as slopes, loops, elevators and drops force you to interact and imagine all 4 dimensions. By the end, I found it much easier to imagine a 4d world.

The compass, stroke style and ball are all customizable for your preference, with optional hard modes for each level (set) that unlock new ball customization when completed. Each level (set) is the same length, with unique themes. Yes, there's a forest, volcano and snow level, but there's also a museum and space theme, which all are presented very well- not too complex, but simple enough to create the theme. The music as well is dynamic- depending on the axis you look in in 4d, the music changes. The gameplay is very smooth, with no glitches or lag present in my playthrough.

The only downsides i can see is that rendering can be heavily dithered or translucent where the track is near the camera, which is a side-effect of having to render a 3D slice of a 4D world. There is a level editor present, however I found it unintuitive and difficult to use.

Years of development and a fun gameplay loop with lots of planning, with some difficulty spikes and QOL features locked until late game (Drones etc.)

great game, almost no bugs as i can tell, and is very fun to play. the level editor could be streamlined, but overall is a joy to use.
