Does anyone else like to wake up at 4 am and wait for the sun to rise? I like to play music like this and walk outside moments before the sky lightens. Then I amble around my neighborhood , watching as the sky turns from black, to blue, to lavender then to pink. Half the sky is ablaze with the rising sun and half is still shrouded in the inky waters of night. It’s awesome. The sky seems so full of life. The world hasn’t woken up yet. The side walks are silent and in the distance you can hear the low rumble of cars. It gets so quiet you can hear every bird, every step of your feet. Windows are still dark. But the sky is awake. The sun pulls the world out of its slumber. It helps shed the world of the heavy blanket of sleep. The world is half alive, stuck in between the wakening and sleeping realm. But the sky. It bleeds with life, it’s light pouring into the streets and doors - Meh ?

Sure, everyone dies alone. But if you mean something to someone, if you help someone, or love someone, if even a single person remembers you, then maybe you never really die at all. Or when we can model the brain, upload it onto a satellite powered by solar energy and send it into space to orbit the longest living star. Or, since we assume the computational model of the brain, that is, of all our cognitive abilities, exists, develop strong AI. Human civilization, having harbored almost all energy on earth except that when nuclei fuse, is a type <1 space civilization, but to accomodate a place to live for strong AI, we will astroengineer a virtual world around a star (not our sun off course!) harboring its energy; a Dyson sphere of computronium (programmable matter) and become a type 2 civilization (in control of our own solar system). An interesting sidenote; because the massive scale computations there emit significant heat, we nest Dyson spheres inside one another like matryoshka dolls for efficiency where the inner feads on the energy of the star and the outer layers on the heat produced by the one but outer (matryoshka brain). But when strong AI, like us, recursively self-improves to an artificual superintelligence, an intelligence explosion is inevetible. This technological singularity has unknown limits, and may allow us to travel astronomical distances and seize control over galaxies, a type 3 civilization. Probably by then we are already immortal. If none of these 3 options to never die satisfy you, then remember, that Google will always remember you!

Toch apart dat de mens niet baas is over zijn eigen lichaam, maar dat een afpersende roverheid jou als een slaaf kan boeien en opsluiten omdat jij iets in je lichaam hebt gestopt wat die afpersende roverheid jou heeft verboden.
Zo zonde dat er na al die duizenden jaren nog steeds geen duurzame vredige vrije samenleving bestaat - het enige dat de overheid zou moeten doen is het non-agressie principe bewaken.
