Good game. Campaign on Hard is hard. But pathfinding is straight from the 90s

Game's amazing. Recommend buying.

[h] Half-Life 2[/h]

Have you noticed how everytime a game developer publishes a game including storytelling like in Half-Life and it becomes so good that a continuation is desperatly needed, the game developers usually disappoint their fans or followers, or if not that, don't live up to their expectations? It happens most of the time. Well, Half-Life 2 is surely not one of those games.

The story is of course as marvelous as ever, but the aesthethic part of the game has been massively improved. And not only that, everything got better, now that is has the praised Source Engine. You'll encounter many new foes on your journey to acomplishing your goal and the puzzles are much better than before, some even utilise the new Source Engine physics mechanics in order to achieve completion. The fighting is epic, and flying enemies have become much more common and harder to kill.

[h] The Story [/h]

Now, if you're a fan of HL you should've heard at least a little bit of the whole controversy surrounding the story. For those that haven't, no, the story of the game is not complete. It's longer than that of HL1 but unfinished and I doubt that it will be finished anytime soon, if ever. But still, in the time the story spans, you'll be escaping from whole cities, drive though deserts, play with cranes(Yeah...) and much more.

[h] The Price [/h]

Since I'm not very good financialy, you won't be seeing me giving 10 Euroes to get the game. I'd much rather wait a sale and get HL2 along with Episode 1 and 2, which are seperate games.

Certainly a very enjoyable game made with a lot of creativity and love. It is a visual novel, like the ones that a stereotypical otaku or neet plays, but it's much more. I don't know if there is another gane like this but this one will surely leave a lasting legacy in the visual novel-making. The game offers a very wide range of secrets, and if you play with the game directory opened, you can observe as the game plays with the files according to the story. Pay attention to the smallest details in order to find new things not visible on the surface. Open the files and enjoy the thoughts of a certain character within the game, or just pictures of one of the four heroines. Try playing with the files yourself. Espacialy the "characters" folder. It's a very interesting place, but like, it's actually much more intriguing than you think. Long story short, in the four files in the folder mentioned earlier, a whole new story is hiding, waiting to be uncovered(well, it already is but anyways).

Overall the game is simply a gem among the visual novels. It's story can rival and surely overwhelm even the best of the novels so far. The love, dedication and creativity that went into it are simply unmeasurable. After you finish the game, there're even mods that continue the story or simply modify it. A very important thing to know is, that if you think that out-smaring the game is an option, I recommend that you change that know. You can't cheat, the game understands if you cheat or not. I think I told you even more that I should have. Farewell, and have a nice day!
