i cant complain im playing on my old xeon 1650v3 and a trusty 1070 and it runs 40-60fps other then in some cities. its a decent port, not perfect could be better should have waited till fsr 3.0 to release the game i feel thats gonna make all the difference for people

its not perfect but its not bad its a good game, however on higher levels of difficulties enemies hitting threw walls or animation lag is horrible not to mention when you jump and are nowhere near an enemy and some how it pulls you back 10 feet its confusing annoying and run ruining this game goes from a horror game to fun yet convoluted mess

I have played and beaten The Forest hundreds of times, and it remains one of my favorite games of all time. I was excited to play Sons of the Forest with two friends, and while there were some positives, there were also some major issues that kept me from enjoying the game as much as I hoped.

One of the biggest letdowns was the lack of a boss fight. The original game's boss fight with the creepy little girl was one of the best boss fights I've ever played, but there is no equivalent in Sons of the Forest. It was a major disappointment

In addition to the missing boss fight, the map also felt lackluster compared to the original game. Many landmarks and unique environments were removed, and even the helicopter that you start the game on was disappointingly empty. The ending was also extremely short and rushed, lacking the build-up and exploration that made the first game's ending so satisfying.

While the new building system is great, a lot of the fun and unique things from the original game were removed, which was a real shame.

Overall, I'm really disappointed with Sons of the Forest in its current state. While I think it has potential with future updates, there's a lot that needs to be improved, including adding a boss fight that lives up to the original game's standards.


i felt like i had to update this review and really its not for the better
glitches man just playing it like a survival game was kinda painful enemies jumping over walls not having a defensive wall gate enemies spawning INSIDE my camp Victoria and kelvin both getting stuck underwater enemies spawning from thin air a "boss" enemy ( the long 2 body thing ) getting stuck under the map and then coming from under the map into my base, the rope bridge was not at all tested show by the fact both kelvin Victoria and enemies all refuse to walk on it not to mention placing doors randomly going inside out depending which side of the world you're facing

the good? the very limited building was amazingly free when it worked however man its expensive you will spend 10+ hours collecting logs and you will like it!

but man the removed stuff from the orginal forest game

not to mention changes to the map i still hate the choice to remove the sinkhole you could have innovated on it in such a cool way maybe have it flooded with water seems a bit silly to remove such a selling point to the original game even if it was just a simple massive detailed lake. added for fan service

i still really don't understand why you removed boats? like sure you don't want it to be to easy but then you add bunkers with little to no enemies that you could ( if you wanted ) just stay in forever? lmao

its not worth the install size let alone the price

i wanna smoke whatever the devs are smoking to charge 60 bucks for this game and not be high is unbelievable, this should have been a $19.99 AT MOST and even thats to high when games so often have 50 hour + main games for 60 bucks, charging 60 for a 5 hour 1 time play-threw janky game, that you know is SO BAD you try to relate to a time when games were a mess lmao please make this your first and last game.
