great game- well paced, well balanced, charming style and effective attitude. the humor and cynicism is modern but well done and clever, so while this game is destine to Age itll age gracefully

this game thinks its hotter sh*t than it is. it oozes streamerbait, it thinks it has something deep to day, and its hardly long or fun enough to constitute being a $10 full release.

i dont have harsh standards, and i dont even have to personally like a game to give it a good review (a look through my review history will make that clear), but this game? sucks.

its got some good stuff going for it, and i was looking forward to playing, but; the parody-sim novelty wore off fast, the retro-horror aesthetics and wandering gameplay are underwhelming and overdone, and the ragegame platforming is clunky and annoying (in the bad way, not the fun way- maybe the respawns are too slow? idk). the pace is terribly slow, though the game is paradoxically always shuffling you off to do some other boring little activity every few minuets- its a pacing whiplash and it makes it feel very awkward to engage with. though its also worth mentioning the game is, technically, only about 2 or 3 hours long excluding optional progression padding- thats not actually that bad a sin, but compiled with the rest of this game i cant claim it didnt piss me off too.

the generically vague and desolate "story" was only just interesting enough to make me want to see how the game progressed and ended, but only via a sunk cost motivation; i already bought the game, ive already lost the refund, i may as well see how this goes- but YOU, you dont have to fall prey to the same logical fallacy. the games not worth it. the story is hardly there and entirely bland; i genuinely thought it was going to turn into an SCP game just 10 or 15min in, and though i was slowly convinced otherwise, the feeling that it could have easily been one never, ever went away. it was familiar is a derivative way and it was derivative in a boring way.

maybe the game has more to offer if idve only just played longer and/or searched harder, but... I don't think this is meant to be an antigame, so if that IS at all the case then it doesnt matter, beacuse i shouldnt have to drudge through a boring, annoying experience just to unearth some paltry redeeming secret or gameplay loop. its one thing for a game to demand a little investment before the return, and another to just be Bad

i did like that you could browse a real, modern (limited) internet in-game. that was fun

creepy purple debatably omniscient radio hosts in a spooky desert town aside, this game is genuinely good.

its not long, or complex, but it has some replay value and manages to make its minimalist mechanics feel suitably tense without feeling overly stressful. I enjoyed the few characters i actually got to interact with, like Perry and Valerie, very much, and screwing around the little office space and finding secrets was a fun way to kill time.

this game is worth its price and paytime as is, in my opinion, but i understand the common sentiment in negative reviews; this game has a LOT of potential, and it feels a little disappointing when you realize it'll never get the chance to totally live up to it, considering its length and depth. that doesnt make the game any worse, but it can leave a sour taste in some people's mouths, i think

i hope the devs have more games of a similar nature planned, because i would happily play them
