I adore this game. From a technical standpoint, from a game play standpoint, I love the art style, I love the narrative. There is something to this game which brings old memories I feel don't even have.

I got this game for free, but I don't think this is a waste of money.

One of the best CRPGs of the new era. You can clearly see how much love went into it, how detailed and well-crafted the world, locations and most of all the companions are.

The main plot is okish, nothing really special is going on here, however, on the other hand I liked the fact the plot is not binary, black-and-white point or ultimate struggle between good and evil. But in what the game excels is the companions' origin stories. Very well written stuff and likeable bunch of weirdos.

Adding beautiful music, clever and non-repetitive dungeons, enjoyable loot-hunting, memorable side quests and encounters, map secrets, beautiful graphics and design and enjoyable battles.

Also, it's loooong (almost 140 hours and I am not a completionist).

Just buy it, play it and enjoy it.

This is probably one of my all-time favorite games. It's very hard to explain why and since I'm not a talented critic it would take too much time trying to describe all the reasons why you should pick this up if you're a fan of complex strategies.

But in short:

The best diplomacy mechanics I've seen in a video game.

Satisfying empire builder/map painter - but you'll have a good time playing tall as well.

You feel like you are playing the History.

Great soundtrack.

Highly exploitable mechanics which allow you to do crazy things.

Very hard and complex game.


Some cons:

Feature creep, sometimes derpy AI, questionable Paradox DLC policy (however, this game will last for hundreds of hours and you can subscribe for all the DLCs just for 5 EUR / month. The game is worth almost 400 EUR).

So, go and pick this up. But you'd need to stick with it for a while before you'd be able to actually capable of doing something in it. Watch some tutorial videos on YT first ;)

We are living in the Age of Remakes now. And this is the best remake of a classic game I've seen so far.

The graphics is beautifully remade, the game-play is basically the same although re-balanced, devs introduced new life-improving changes to the HUD and controls. Also, you get all the old and newly introduced DLCs (HD)

Nothing more to add actually. The fact that the MP community switched to the DE version and it is played on the official tournaments should be enough of proof.

Star Citizen, but it exists and it's playable

Above average. The game still suffers from bugs here and there (played in 12/2019) and except better graphics the game brings too few new things in comparison with the first (new) X-COM. It also follows basically exactly the same story structure as the original game. Not mentioning the cheesiest plot I have seen in quite some time. The ending is meh, the story is average, customization of X-COM operatives is sort of okish, but overall I had greater expectations to be honest. Worth buying in sale.

I do recommend this game despite the fact it has the most annoying mini game I've ever seen (far more annoying than planet scanning in ME2 (!)). Thankfully some bro made a mode to disable this crappy mechanic and put that up on Nexus Mods web - what a guy!

Anyway, when Bioshock meets System shock and together decide to call Half-Life 2 for a quick chat, you can bet you'll get something else.

The game is good. Game mechanics very solid, narrative thrilling as ♥♥♥ and the cinematic experience is extraordinary.

Do not overlook this one. It's a must have for every deep-space-thriller lover.

Pros:

+ Good puzzles (easily comparable to Portals).
+ Interesting and thought provoking narrative.
+ Engine is simple and works fine.
+ Graphics is fine even after 4 years from release.
+ Atmospheric ambient.

Cons:

- Nothing so far.

The game is also discounted by 80 % all the time.

The greatest surprise in quite some time for me.
