I can't recommend this game.

I really want, because I've seen a few YT reviews and got quite excited, I like the premise, I like the world-building, I like the music and overall atmosphere. But I can't.

The design suffers from something for which I believe there's some kind of a fancy word. You really often get to a situation from which it's impossible to get yourself out and finish run you spent an hour or so in. For example (and the reason why I write this review), I just got killed by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ poison on my way back to the shuttle after I killed everyone on the level. Just like that. I even used items to get my poisoning level a bit down to not get -6 HP every turn, but it didn't even work. I don't know if it's a bug or there's a chance that the treatment won't work, but it didn't and I died. I died fully packed with items I spent an hour of grinding, killing everyone everywhere, but because there's quite a journey to get back to the shuttle from the objective, I just wasn't able to finish it.

I mean, I knew the game is unforgiving for sure, but in this genre, I think it's very important to not get your RNGs and other mechanics making the life of the player harder and harder THAT punishing and THAT random. There's no way around it, and that sucks. Because it makes the process of adaptation and learning disproportionately irritating.

I wish the devs all the best and hope they'll be able to address these things (for example the poison could get you to a minimum HP level, so for any remaining mob it would be that easier to finish you off, but you would at least have a chance to get your ass back to the shuttle), but for now it's a pass for me.

Or I don't know. Maybe you are the type of player who enjoys this. In that case, this is clearly for you.

I was expecting a bit more from Firewatch. It was quite a ''meh'' story. Not a bad game but I would suggest to skip it and look elsewhere.

The game is so hard I’m completely comfortable to admit I save-scum the s*it out of it.

I have to say ''No'' due to the idiotic steam rating system.

It is a good game but absolutely does not deserve 90+ % rating.

For me it's somewhere around 6-7ish out of 10.

Sometimes quite a nightmare fuel but overall actually hauntingly cute. I met a few sections that frustrated me more than I would be willing to accept but except that lovely horrific (or horrifyingly lovely?) tiny little nightmare :)

I grew up with WWF SmackDown! and WWF SmackDown! 2 and even though these games are more than 20 years old, both have vastly superior game-play and game design than this garbage. Really, this game is really only about button mashing and trying to guess and hit specific key on your game pad for which you have less than 0,5 sec window. Really atrocious game-play that would have cost me a new piece of gaming equipment were I to continue to play it.

If you are a die-hard fan of pro-wrestling, go and grab it in sale, I guess. If you want to have a fun game to play, look elsewhere
