This game is so hard at the beginning that it's hard to see the potential for fun. But after playing it for a while, I see how the difficulty lends itself to a wild, chaotic game with a lot of synergy between different buffs.

I really wish controllers worked with it!

Let's start with the highest acclaim that I can give a game: It rewards intelligent play! By this I mean, it's not just reaction time, it's not just pretty 3-D graphics, it's really hard turn-based play, and you have to fight back against the game by every means possible just to survive and certainly to have any chance of conquering!

It is hard hard hard, I rarely play games that try to kill me so much, but in this case, it's my scrabble for survival that will make the difference, unlike some games out there that are hard in boring ways.

The game obviously has a lot of depth, a lot of care, and a lot of detail put into it's development, from it's lush voice acting, it's beautifully detailed characters and classes, to it's unflinchingly dark atmosphere.

But there is a downside, and that is the RNG (random number generator). The game is so random, that it subverts your ability to intelligently keep yourself alive. Often events will just go bad and your whole party, that you have built so very painstakingly, will all slowly be killed by inches. So it takes a certain mindset to even play the game (after the 3rd party wipe), but that "danger" also makes you really try your hardest to keep your beloved characters alive. Often without success.

So go into it knowing that sometimes the randomness will kill you, and without question your characters will die some, and try to enjoy this horror game with that kind of Lovecraftian atmosphere to it.

I've been playing for a number of days and 30+ hours now, and the game is worth the buy, even to experience it until you ragequit.

Great, somewhat random, but not, an exercise in patience with destiny as things happen over which you have very limited control, but are interesting to see happen. Happily, it's interspersed with things over which you -do- have control (killing zombies in a continually cute and crunchy way).

Have played at least 10 runs without reaching the fabled Eden of Canada, and will play at least 5 more.

Not very playable, the control scheme is relatively clunky by default (mouse-look is slow to move, for example), and the visuals are very "cluttered", making it hard to determine what is happening.

Also, the tutorial is... ...not very clear, wants you to build stuff in a build phase, but doesn't say anything about how.

The concept seemed interesting and unique, but the game itself is so buggy and slow that it's unplayable.

Dark, Twisted, yet humorous, what more could you ask for? With a Legend of Zelda: Link to the past -ish gameplay, and a theme so toxic you may feel a little more evil as you play it, you baby killer. It's the game I come back to, with replayability to last years.

Dark and excellent, it isn't your typical game, and you may not survive.
