Learned from the mistakes of Judgment, Lost Judgment is an excellent game in every aspect and is worth playing.

The story is still as good as Judgment.
The combat is actually fun now. Yagami has four fighting styles, each one suitable for different situations. The styles are strong, have diverse moves, and transition well from one to another. You will find yourself never have to grab a weapon from the ground because Yagami can handle everything with his bare hands.
In Lost Judgment, Ryu ga Gotoku studio replaced the side cases with school club management. You get to meet various students from clubs help them break through their struggles. It portrays a humane, friendly little society in a cruel world.
There are a lot of minigames in Lost Judgment compared to the predecessor. Most of them are fun to play, except the bike racing minigame.


Lost Judgment is probably one of the best games that Ryu ga Gotoku studio ever made. If you have completed Judgment, there is no reason not to play this one.

Judgment is Ryu Ga Gotoku studio's attempt to break out of Yakuza franchise. While the story is very thrilling, the gameplay falls short.

Crane and Tiger styles are limited and unfun to play, compared to Yakuza fighting styles. Yagami can not perform brutal heat actions, nor can he wield bladed weapons because he is an upstanding citizen. Some side cases are fun and creative but many involves tailing and scripted chasing, which are very tedious. There are very few minigames beside the standard mahjong and shogi and dart. The friendship bonding is extremely repetitive. The game is very easy, even on hard difficulty, probably so that Kimura's female fans who have never held a controller can still complete the game.

Overall, Judgment is a proof-of-concept rather than a good game. The sequel of Judgment, named Lost Judgment, is better in every aspect. However, you still have to complete Judgment first to learn about Yagami's past, his buddies and relationship, etc

Gust needs to make Blue Reflection DX. The game lacks so many quality of life, it is frustrating to play: No fast forward text, no auto text, no skip cutscene, no chat log, bad camera, no enemy analyzing, no battle speed adjustment, no graphics option, etc

No one wins in a war. Soldiers who took their last breath on the battlefield are just innocent men with their own family and dream. May everyone who died in World War 1 rests in peace.

Developers hired too many employees, ran short on money, decided to beg the community for donation instead of cutting down staff. Even with many employees, there is barely any new content added. Hono, the original creator, left the game. Now the game is just a shadow of what it once was.

Locking characters behind gacha, despite previously claiming microtransactions are cosmetic only.

More difficult than Dark Souls.

Rin loves it when tiny men follow Rin's order and fight for the glory of her empire.

Atelier Ryza is a good game, but if you are a long time Atelier player you can see that Gust added so many weird combat mechanics and oversimplified synthesizing mechanic. It seems they wanted to attract general JRPG fans, but by doing so they made synthesizing unfun.
