Here's what you really need to know about this game, yes it's time and effort intensive to be a part of, no it's not as impenetrable as the peanut gallery makes it sound. Yes there are unpleasant people in the community, no they're not as prevalent as the useless critics who equate playing these games to contracting some sort of disease like to exaggerate.

Dota 2 is one of the very few competitive experiences relevant today that feels like it will have a presence for the next decade moving forward, and provide those with a healthy mindset of learning, perseverance, and patience a video game that gives back what they put into it.

EVE is a game that weaponizes human nature and political intrigue like no other. It lets the playerbase shape the space-sandbox of "New Eden" completely through their own volition, while providing a satisfyingly intricate strategy/RPG experience to go along with it.
