A solid platform fighter inspired by Smash and with a diverse animal cast with elemental powers. The game has multiple enjoyable gamemodes including an endless arcade/single player mode, a story mode, and tetherball. What sets Rivals apart from other 2d platform fighters is a unique art style and mechanics held by each character that gives them unique movement, rushdown, or zoning capabilities (Orcane's puddle which he can teleport to, which strengthens his attacks while standing on it, or which can be used as a stunning attack; Absa's cloud, Zetterburn's fire, Etalus's ice, Ranno's poison, the list goes on).
