Highfleet caught me off guard as something that has it all; visually stunning, mechanically challenging, and has an amazingly immersive story and world. If you liked FTL then I thoroughly recommend you try this one. Oh yeah and the soundtrack is amazing too. They really did an amazing job at making a polished game in every possible aspect. Even the tutorial is good!

The game comprises of a bunch of different minigames within that all require their own thought and planning, and I never felt like things got repetitive throughout my playthroughs. The progression was well paced and got more and more challenging towards the final stretch in a good way, and rewards you for planning ahead. Saying that though, it's also extremely satisfying being able to react to the curve balls the game throws at you.

From a world building perspective, the game is extremely immersive, and I cannot express how much I loved the Russo-Roman-Ottoman mix that the game worked around. The way the story progressed kept me invested in my companions and the actions I made along the way. Huge props on making such a distinct scenario.

The visuals in the game also absolutely blew me away. I'm in awe at how the team were able to perfect every minor detail of every corner of the screen.

It absolutely baffles me how such a small studio was able to make such a completely polished game. I have nothing but deep respect for the devs for managing to come up with such an enjoyable set of game loops that all fit together in a neat package. My GOTY for 2021.

Easily one of the best games I've played for a couple years now. The developers poured their souls into every corner of this solar system and it shows. They did an amazing job of bringing out the sense of the unknown vastness of space, making you always yearning for another adventure.
