People like to say good graphics isn't everything, but maybe they're wrong sometimes. This game could be about literally anything and with the atmosphere these visuals and sound design created I'd still enjoy it.

The "go in completely blind" mindset everyone has ruined my experience. I want to leave this review as a warning because most of them just tell you to stop reading and play the game.

I tried to listen to the reviews that told me not to look anything up ever. I tried twice, with a break in between. These two attempts took me 6 hours in total and honestly it was a chore, I was desperately waiting to get amazed since everyone describes this game as if it was the second coming of christ. I found nothing that would make me want to continue this way. A year later I remembered about this game's existence again and decided to disregard the advice to go in blind and power through it, just to at least experience the story as intended.

I don't understand why people are so cryptic about it, or how looking for help ruins your experience. Obviously, don't look up story spoilers of a story based game. Obviously, looking up a solution to a puzzle removes the gameplay element of solving it yourself. But that goes for every game, this one isn't any different, and if something stops you from progressing and makes you frustrated, it's normal to search for tips or solutions. And some of them can be wild so it's beyond me how people expect everyone to figure them out on their own and enjoy it.

Another thing I can't comprehend it how people find this game relaxing. It's a time limit within a time limit, which isn't inherently a bad thing, but you don't really realize that at the beginning. I actually would like to have known what I signed up for, at least I would have been prepared for the copious amounts of frustration. The game design is certainly unique and impressive and maybe I would have the energy to appreciate it if I wasn't constantly frustrated. A small mistake can and will make you start over. You will probably waste time. While this kind of mechanic has its place in gaming and high difficulty can be a good thing I don't think it mixes well with a story/exploration game. I find it hard to get emotionally invested if 90% of my emotional capacity is occupied by anger.

I feel like I would've enjoyed it infinitely more if I just watched someone else play it. The story is nice, I guess. Some bits are a bit far fetched but it's easy enough to ignore that. I suppose I'm a bit disappointed, I don't want to be too harsh on this specific part of the game because I would not go out of my way to critique this story under different circumstances, it's good writing, but I was not blown away and my life was not changed. And obviously I don't expect any piece of media to do that but again, the reviews hyped it up too much, and now here we are.

Not nearly as hard as people make it out to be. If the rumors about the difficulty are the only thing stopping you from playing, keep in mind it's likely just someone's skill issue shining through whenever the game gives them a task slightly more challenging than talking to an npc.

I swear half of my playtime is the time I spent on loading screens. An error pops up nearly every time I die and apparently connecting to someone else's game is the only way to fix it. One story mission was glitched and didn't spawn enemies and it was impossible to finish, reloading the checkpoint resulted in the error mentioned above, at the second attempt the game randomly froze before I even got to the mission, third attempt - sound was glitched in the cutscene and then the game froze on the loading screen and after quitting with alt f4 I couldn't even close it properly with task manager.

I finished the game. Steam counts overall time spent with the game open, Ubisoft counts only the gameplay itself. It says 17 hours on Ubisoft, 27 on steam. That makes it 10 hours spent in loading screens.

Unplayable for me. Mouse only works in the menu, can't look around, no one knows any solutions. The person I planned to play with had the same issue.
