I edit review cause game get update and seems like developers not abandon it.

The devs really trying to be communicative with community and slowly but surely make updates.

But why I still cannot recommend this game right now, even after recent update fix a bunch of issue?

Two major flaws is still there.
First one:
The game didn't have enough content right now. That's normal for small team of developer, and I personally don't expect giant bucket of maps or something but for now you can go trough all content in a very short time. It was just feels like it was slightly bigger than a demo, but it was not demo anymore.

And I hope with time it not gonna be issue anymore. But it is for now.


Second Issue:
Constant feeling what game cannot decide what it was trying to be.
Trying to be a game about constant improvement of your records? It still doesn't track it.
Trying to be sandbox-ish rhythm game? Cannot choose a character separated from stage or add modification to your run. You only choose location+character and the song. The custom songs editor is still not flexible enough even if devs working on it very hard.
Maybe it's a game about linear prebuilt stages? Nope. Cause the game not focusing on tracking your progress and allow you to choose songs freely while they change nothing on level itself.

This issue lead to weak sense of gameplay direction and just got player empty handed.



My best regards to this game devs.
I hope to change that review next time on positive one. Let's see how it gonna rolls from now on.

I was meet a hundred peoples and visit hundreds worlds. Saw so many life changing moments and have so much fun.
All your experience in that place depends on your mindset. It's can be a goofy place or can be your second life.
You can meet your friends or you can meet a bunch of annoying goobers.

It's worth a try even if it's not gonna be your cup of tea. Cause in the end of the day you lose nothing if you give it a shot but you can find real redemption in that place if it clicks with you.

No need to listen about people's there, about communities or a problems before jump in.
Just try to be coldheaded and openhearted and watch if that place can be your way to chill for real.

I only wish you luck if you try to delve into that 'game'. Cause it's can be best ride in your life.

Workshop of this game is blessing and I love it.

Don't get me wrong, Rivals is good game even without it but with workshop it's whole new level.
People make the great characters and great stages. Even gamemodes and bossbattles!
With all this it feels like more casual(nothing wrong with it), best alternative to Smash.

If you want a golden line between competitive complex fighting and casual funny stuff that's the best choice for sure.

I mean, I got P on each available level on violence...
This game is good? This game is GREAT.
Literally oldschool shooter what realize and fix all oldschool shooters flaws.


The balance is great, the gameplay speed is great, movement is great. This game feels RIGHT.
And important thing, the game reward you for exploring with really nice things. Secret bosses, minigames, new weapon alternatives. I love it.

Only one thing for me is not so great it's a music. Cybergrind theme is awesome, and most of start music is good but the main part of music actually poor and generic.
But man, I love to analyze and find flaws in game, and I literally sure what this is one and only flaw of this game for now.

Just, play it, go through a bunch of enemies and ULTRAKILL them all.

that new DOOM game looks good.
