I don't normally do reviews, but this game deserves an exception.

Super Daryl Deluxe is an enjoyable game with a lot of content. Honestly the gameplay was solid but did not blow me away. The combat can have some rough edges, but never feels like it fails. I don' really know how to describe it other than stiff maybe? This is not a bad thing though, because it still feels right. I think of it kind of feels like something between a true Triple A brawler, and action combat done in an RPG shell.

The RPG elements are done well too. Again, nothing mind blowing. But it goes as far as it should. This isn't like Symphony of the Night combat, so that kind of depth to the RPG aspects wouldn't make sense. But you get stead stat upgrades and can get unique effects from some pieces or complete sets. The effects fit a brawler type game.

Now what makes me love the game is the sheer amount of personality it bleeds. The story, characters, art, and everything going on in the game are just so easy to love. So many times I would be doing any odd quest, or new classroom, and think to myself "this is just so cool". The jokes ranged from bad pun worthy to hilarious, but I always just enjoyed what it was putting down. I normally hate side quests in games, but each one in this felt entertaining on some level.

So when everything comes together, it is just a joy to play through this whole experience. Find some time, and let yourself get lost in the world of Daryl. It is an experience that is Super Deluxe.

Finished a basic playthrough. Absolutely loved this game. It controls well, is challenging but rewarding, and looks and sounds amazing.

My biggest issue was always many aspects of the level design blending in with the background. This is something that does go away just as you naturally learn the overall level design, but it could creep up very rarely even later on.

Getting that complete playthrough though, that is a tough affair and may take more effort than some want to put in.

Overall though, I am very happy to have played this game.
