I saw one person say that this game feels like it expects you to traverse areas built for core abilities that the player is simply missing. I fully understand why this would make for an unenjoyable experience for some, but I think this exact quality is why the game is so special, it feels so daunting and confusing when you first see a lot of the obstacles. The atmosphere, level design and moveset are all tailored for a very specific type of exploration and engagement that works beautifully. It's a game about exploring a vast space and using one's ingenuity and limited abilities to scale ruins that don't exist to be scaled. (They're designed to be scaled by the devs, but in a manner that it doesn't really feel that way.) If the game were easier or more guided, this atmosphere would not really be possible, I don't think. I doubt it'd be that much of a detriment to allow an assist option to place down little respawn points for those who don't wanna deal with the difficulty as-is, but... it would be a shame if the level design of the pond towers or massive temple or such were changed. It would lose a lot. ...not that there aren't bits I dislike, but they tend to lean less into the contemplative vibe I described. Overall though, this game's great if you're the type of person who's into this particular sort of thing.

The presentation is stellar in this game. Everything is fantastic but that aspect in particular is really wonderful

But as of now (2023 and also earlier but I never bothered to edit this until now) I would like to state that saying this game is "better" than RoR1 is absurd. They're fundamentally different experiences in many ways, comparing them like that is silly and incorrect
