As of writing this game is $4. At this price it’s a MUST BUY. Incredibly well put together game with a lot of good ideas that are expanded upon in the sequel. Great gameplay and good story. Highly recommend.

i've pretty much been waiting for this my entire life. no expectations because it's an old game (referring to reach). all it really needs to do is work and it does which means i'm happy. oh also, get the entire collection for $40. that's 7 triple a games for $40. they're not some half baked early access ♥♥♥♥ you'd come to expect from steam (i rarely spend $40 on steam simply because a lot of the games on here aren't worth it). truth is, it's halo, it was microsoft's baby that help it's consoles. they poured countless hours and dollars into making each game as it is, and they were $60 experiences that were hyped as hell per release. if you've never played halo before, now is the time to get into it. you get great campaigns, co-op, split-screen, an awesome and diverse multiplayer, and eventually forge and theater. this was the core of many people's childhoods, and it's for good reason. halo is a game that has stood the test of time. definitely pick it up.

This game came in when the Assassin's Creed franchise was on life support. One more mediocre or bug ridden release and the franchise would've been forgotten. Lead by Ashraf Esmail and his team, they have created something that not only single handedly saved the franchise, but elevated it to a point where it has never been. Assassin's Creed Origins is an absolute masterpiece and I HIGHLY recommend. What's also great is that it frames the story in a way in which you don't have to have played the predecessors. If you want to, I would do that first, because while this game is accessible story wise for first-timers, you won't enjoy the older one's nearly as much, solely because this game is SO GOOD.

The perfect balance of Assassin's Creed lore while also innovating and refreshing the gameplay entirely, something the franchise has struggled with in the past.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS GAME.

It's a really, REALLY good game.

My biggest complaint is the price- as it's kind of a major factor a lot of friends haven't taken the plunge to try it out. Right now, the game simply isn't having the growth it should- and in this day and age, I'd attribute that to the price tag. I think putting it at $20, with sales bringing it to $10 and the occasional $5 sale would make the population explode.

Now don't confuse me suggested a lower price with the value of the game- I think that the $40 price tag is perfectly justified for what you're given here, but that it's just not sustainable as games generally become cheaper. What you get in this is definitely worth $40 or more.

Onto why this game is so good in my opinion:
So take Skyrim, a MMO, and Rust- that's essentially what you have here- with a big emphasis on the Skyrim part.
One of the strongest aspects of Conan Exiles is it's capacity for storytelling through it's world while working within the framework of a multiplayer survival game. It does a really good job blending them seemlessly and arguably the best I've seen from any multiplayer game. You can be walking around with someone through a forest and a ghost will appear- running towards a lake and beginning swimming away, then, another ghost- that of an archer- will appear and shoot the first ghost while it's trying to clearly escape something (we don't know what). That ghost will stop and sink to the bottom as he's been killed and vanish. If you have trained mind from say- Skyrim, you may think to actually jump in the lake and dive to the bottom where he would've drowned. There- you can find a chest with some goodies in it that'll disappear if you don't loot it fast enough.

It's world interactions like these that I think make the game so great.

Another example involves finding what looks like a massive tomb built into the side of a mountain. As you approach ghosts synthesize and if you get close to where they're hanging out- you can find a letter that has some vague instructions on how to get into the tomb. You'll figure out that it requires demon blood and if you go out and actually get it- you'll gain entry to the tomb and a world boss will be waiting inside.

I'm yet to find a multiplayer game which does this sort of storytelling as well as Conan Exiles.

Additionally, the map is AWESOME- large in scale and extremely diverse, the different biomes have entirely different feels to them. To the east- a jungle biome with pirates and the sort- I'm planning a trip there soon as I'm yet to experience it myself. You spawn in the southwest, a desert biome, and due to the size of each biome- I think may be a turn-off for new players, because the other ones are so far away and seem inacessible, hence why the game gets a lot better after the first hour or so. Although the desert feel is meh, it gets a much better as you progress northwards, where more interesting sights are seen and new areas are explored. In the northwest, you have the smaller frozen biome. Here is where the volcano is which produces special material which can only be obtained there. To survive the biome however, warm clothes must first be prepared or be ready for quick in-n-out trips as quickly as possible. South of frozen biome and east of the desert biome lies the plains and dark forest biome, each with their own unique flavor. In the dark forest biome expect ghost-enemies which live together, but also some decent loot should you be able to break into their homes and raid their chests. There are also some interesting travelling npcs around here which can provide you with some quests. There are also cities all around with different flavors and characters inside, Conan is on the west side by an Oasis- I forget the name of the city but it's cool to see him in-game.

I could go on and on about how awesome the map is but I think you get the point- the game is worth it simply for the exploration opportunities.

There's also rust-like building. I don't actually play rust so I can't say for certain but people have described the building as being like rust and some have claimed it to be better. There's some fun decorations you can do as well as a whole other assortment of things to keep you busy. Expect long trips to acquire materials- however these are lightened up with friends and each time you venture out it can feel like a new adventure so long as you don't farm only one thing from the same place.

The combat and progression are done pretty well too. There are a lot of different things to invest your progress points in- in fact, there's even a whole section dedicated to climbing and carrying a lot (yes, you can scale massive rock walls).

The combat is also pretty solid, with a hitbox focused, light hit, heavy hit, kick, etc..., system.

Overall this game really has something for everyone and my biggest complaints are some minor bugs which don't really impact gameplay and the lack of playerbase- $40 is a big jump to take, and the 2+ hours required to even get started makes refunding not really possible.

IF YOU SEE THIS GAME ON A FREE WEEKEND- PICK IT UP AND STICK WITH IT FOR AT LEAST A DAY- IT CAN BE REALLY FUN AND REWARDING SO LONG AS YOU GET OVER THE BEGINNING SLUMP

It was unique and fun. For a while I was really enjoying it but the interest died out and I had been waiting to get back into it. Rip Radical Heights (2018-2018).

P.S. Kenny, you should've made lawbreakers free. I tried it and really liked it but I'm not spending the money you're asking when I can play Overwatch. None of this mess would've happened.

Actually a really good game. Tons of fun. If you and your friends are bored and can't decide what to play, give this a go. Also it's free :D!

Definitely a good game. Don't boot it up often, maybe twice-seven times a year, but still always an enjoyable experience.

Really good time with friends. Needs more publicity so people are willing to spend money on it.
