Genuinely one of the most heartwarming and soul crushing games I've ever played

I don't normally finish games that I buy. This is one of the only times i've not only finished a game, but bought the sequel and finished it because I was that immersed in the story. 10/10

But seriously, this is an amazing game to pick up and kill some time with your friends. Think Mario Party meets DnD with a bit of Magic the Gathering. You move around a game board, rolling dice each turn. After every roll, you will either pick up (or drop) stars, draw a card, use a card, or face an enemy. The stars serve two main purposes, using a card (many cards require you to sacrifice a certain number of stars to activate them), and reaching goals to win (which i will cover later). Each card you use is taken from a pile, made up of the decks you and your opponents construct before each game. These cards can damage enemies, give you or someone else stars, heal you, give you an extra set of dice to roll, and so much more. All enemy encounters are settled with a literal roll of the dice. The object of the game is to complete five goals before anyone else, either winning a certain number of fights or collecting a certain number of stars.

Fans of point and click games will love this. A pleasant mix of Grim Fandango and Monkey Island, heavily influenced by african culture makes for a very unique take on an old concept. I cant wait for chapter two!
