If you enjoy playing with friends, this is not the game for you. The game itself is fine, interesting concept and all that but it lacks basic features as joining friends.

We spend hours trying to get it to work, and even after a year of not playing it - it still does not work consistently.

/Edit: It appears this works now, as it has been updated since.

For someone that wasn't around in the 70's to witness this as it happened, this is the closest I'm gonna get to reliving it and I think the overal experience is great and thus a must-have for people that are interested in space or this part of human history.

Quality could be slightly higher though.

/Edit: Found playing around with settings did improve it a bit.

If you like soccer and cars, this is the game for you. While it might sound silly at first, it's actually really catchy and both fun to play at parties and online.<br><br>Edit:Sadly the game is not playable anymore, it requires an ECS account - something that I can not do. It also dropped Linux, Mac support, and many other features - all because of some greedy monopolist wannabe. Do not support this if you care for gaming.

I didn't have many expectations going in, but followed the tips people gave such as 'watch the intro'. While most of it was cool, it got repetitive - till you see the earth in the universe and get an Apollo 11 moment, that is.

After that you are in control and get to zoom in on the place of your choice - and looking at your country from the sky is also really cool!

The zoom/funnel is pretty well done but did lead to some motion sickness in people I demoed it to doo. Perhaps there should be (or is?) an option that slows the zoom a bit down.

Human scale is disabled by default but can be great fun, although only the bigger cities seem supported (and most famous nature attractions). It gets glitchy (a lot of things are melted wax) in smaller / less popular streets but still provides a cool experience.

While I like the concept of survival games (think Walking Dead) and post apolyptic worlds (every man for himself etc) it's a bit too slow / realistic for my likings. Scattering for items, walking for hours with nothing to do - especially in the beginning / newcomer, is a bit of a bore. After that, become friends with people so you can take turns watching each other. In short, trust no-one and try to survive. Meanwhile, get robbed, trolled, killed in the process - and start over with nothing when you die for one of the many reasons.
The psyche-part and some funny video's on the net are great aspects, once you really settle in the game there must be some amazing experiences to be had. But you should realllly like the genre and/or heavily invest (time) in the game before it's fun.

Or perhaps I was doing it wrong.

Note; I played a very early Alpha and there were many bugs and very little information available.

This is where Valve's story begins. This is where they redefine the user experience for games and set a standard for all single-player and future FPS to come.

Personally I thought the first Portal was better, but I'm confident this is because than the concept was entirely new. Portal 2 was fairly easy, but nonethelss a great game to introduce more people to the portal-universe.

The humor, detail and cleverness is once again top notch, and even interests people that have not played games ever. I mean, who doesn't like puzzles?
