Early Access Review
An amazing physics based indie puzzler that makes me reminisce back to the Portal days. Even in early access and testing i've been hooked from day one and can't wait to see how this game grows up!

If your all about puzzle games that make you actually think, lots of trial and error plus secrets to tempt to you all corners of the map, definitely give this a go! I promise, once you've played the demo, you'll be dying to play more!

Besides, who would really say no to being able to throw black holes everywhere and cause utter chaos? Just ... remember to brace ;p

‘Beautiful but infuriating’ … Review done. Oh how I wish it was that easy. Honestly though, this game looks absolutely amazing graphically but just doesnt hit the mark with actual gameplay. Its not that the levels are ridiculously hard or anything, theres just so many issues with responsiveness and mechanics that it really (and I mean REALLY REALLY) gets on your nerves.

Anyone who knows me can tell you I really dont do endless shooters. This might have something to do with the fact I’m not very good at them but lets just skip past that minor point. Fact is, I tend to avoid at all costs. However, I may have just found an exception to this unspoken rule I live by.

Browsing through my steam library and trying to organise everything when I come across ‘Polychromatic’ - a game I’ve never played and don’t actually know anything about ... hell lets play it and see what we have here. Much to my dissappointment, I realised pretty much upon opening what it was and swiftly sought out the exit game button. Then I stopped ... I dont know why but I did. A small niggling urge inside me to try this game out. So I did.

This has got to be by far the smoothest endless shooter I have ever played. Easy controls using a game pad and dare I say it, almost enjoyable. A simple yet well made design that doesn’t hurt your brain when your trying to keep track of your little attack dude and three modes to suit your preference of play style. If your after killing as much as you can and don’t want to worry about how many lives you have, ‘Timed’ is the way to go. If you want a bit more of a challenge and actually want to panic about loosing lives then hit that ‘Endless’ mode. Which of course leaves ‘One-life’ which pretty much speaks for itself - hardcore only go near if your good at this stuff sorta mode.
A cool feature of this particular shooter is that unlike alot of others, each of those little demon shapes trying to kill you has its own pattern. The further you get, the more you get to figure out - oh and the more you die.

So i’m clearly not very good at this but I dare say this is one of the few shooters I will actually play more than once and actually kind of enjoyed. Worth the £1.99? In my opinion ... yeah i’d say it is. Well done Brushfire Games, you’ve succeded where most have failed - Giving me an endless shooter I’m happy to pay for and kill some time on!

Wow .... just wow. No wonder this is having to be practically given away in bundles. Not even a minute in and you can already see the major issues with this game. The only accesible menu is the option to quit or resume, no tuturials or even basic control introductions - just straight in and have fun spamming your keyboard for the next however in the hope something will move. Suddenly there is left and right movement and you feel you are getting somewhere but thats as far as it goes.
When you finally rage enough to google the controls ('X' to move and 'Z' to use items), its doesnt get much better. So yeah the graphics are alright but the handling is erratic and impact penalties are a bit intense; stopping completely everytime you hit ... well .. pretty much anything gets a bit tedious after a while.
Items are non explanatory from what they do to how long the cool down is. Anything that should aim at AI ahead has next to no usuable aiming features and generally ends up going out into space somehwere and boosts just cause you to hit something (causing that inevitable standstill).
So overall; no dialogue, performance settings or instruction and an intrigue time of about 2 minutes - save your 79p and go find some cards for that next badge you need.

One of the more basic match 3 games out there. Straight into the game menu with no story/dialougue of any sort. Actually matching 3 is hard enough as you have to be extremely precse with the mouse and take your time otherwise it wont register. Having to be slower with the mouse means you spend a large amount of time being bored and when the level finally ends your lucky if youve managed to put up with it enough to get a passable score.
