expected katana zero with grappling hook

NOTHING could prepare me for this game’s plot.

honest opinion: controls are simple, and swinging with the grappling hook is intuitive, easy, and fun. the pixel art is exquisite. it's a very solid video game.

however, be warned: this game is, first and foremost, a story that JUST HAPPENS to ship with a video game. I’m convinced there are more cut scenes than actual playtime-- but don’t let that deter you. yes, the translation is slightly rough around the edges, but it never detracts from the over-arching narrative.

the story is pure lunacy, in a very good way, and continuously gains momentum all the way to the very end.

super alloy ranger paints a picture of a mischievous and electrifying world without overstaying its welcome, largely through its generous yet careful use of vibrant colors. it offers artistic variety while ensuring nothing looks stylistically out of place, lending to a certain level of design authenticity to the world of super alloy ranger.

mabimogu’s designs for super alloy ranger combine light-hearted moe softness with the half-human, half-robot grit of cyberpunk. despite the abundance of cold and unrelenting cybernetics woven into the character designs, many of the characters—including the non-humanoid enemies—are styled with a distinct roundness and softness in mind. it’s clear that the illustrator has a unique and confident stylistic vision for the game's universe.

overall, it is a lovely art collection that invites the imagination. the pixel art is truly exquisite. if you feel drawn to the colorful world of super alloy ranger, even in the slightest, then this is a must have.

The megaman game we needed.

Super Alloy Ranger plays very much like Megaman Zero and Megaman X in all the ways that matter. Wall-jumping, air dashing and double jumping make their return, and you will acquire new special weapons as you overcome bosses.

However, Super Alloy Ranger improves on the traditional system by including an energy recharging system that encourages aggressive play, and each special weapon modifies not only your special attack, but your primary attack as well. The ability to swap between these movesets on the fly offers players unique flexibility and the opportunity to explore different potential methods to clear a room or defeat a boss their own way.

All this, in addition to the exquisite pixel art, solid level design, and brilliant OST, makes for a very worthwhile and complete package. The developer also seems to be actively fixing bugs and rolling out patches, and responds regularly in the discussion forums.

Really looking forward to seeing what's next from Alloy Mushroom.

i play this by myself while pretending to have real friends. we even have full on conversations and stuff too. i am the coolest and most popular in the group of course. all of my jokes are funny and everyone loves me. i havent gotten a hole in one yet but when i do everybody will clap. i will be practicing hard for friday game night. of course i wont tell them ive been practicing. they will think im a natural. wish me luck everyone.

brief but surprisingly fun game

deflecting projectiles with the bat is tight and responsive

jerma has a very strong mobility option (rolling) which can be deployed both on the floor and in the air, even between swings. he is a very flexible and compact unit.

regeneration mechanic is tons of fun, and trying to time it between enemy patterns is a joy although punishing if you fail to finish the animation in time

good game. sad theres really only a few levels. i hope there will be more to come

so i got this game at the same time as pirates curse, both are good

one is noticeably easier-- specifically this one

despite that, still preferred this one

sexualization and likability of characters is not mutually exclusive here
