THIS EFFIN GAME.

I loved this game, so much. I wasn't any good when i was playing it, but still ended up falling in love anyway.

This game is probably the gateway drug that gotten me addicted to playing fighting games. I played BBCT and BBCS before, sure. But i didn't actively try to git gud at them and just played it for the story.

To be honest, i didn't think the barrier of entry of this game was high because this is the game where i started, so there's quite a bias there. BUT after playing more and more fighting games i realized that BlazBlue mainline series has a quite tall barrier of entry and enough depth to do (almost) anything you want with a character you choose.

For me, the pacing was greatly improved from the earlier series and they made it simpler compared to the old days (Bye Guard Primer, you won't be missed) and the new Overdrive/Burst system is also really nice.

My only problem with this game would probably the 'neutral' Overdrive timer. I get it, it's part of the game and several characters actually relied on it to get the most juice out of them (looking at you, Bullet) but it has always been something that feels really off to me. Why are you getting full OD timer during opponent's hitstun as long as you can return to the neutral first (e.g. Noel doing 6C ~ tk.OD gives full timer even though she never left the ground even after the OD. what the hell.)

All in all, i still love this game. Sure the love might have weakened due to the existence of Centralfiction but no matter what, this is the game that got me where i am now. This is the game where i found the community i dearly loved even until now.
