As someone who never played it before, It's an excellent game, much better than 99% of AAA games releasing these days. I enjoyed the story. Characters are funny & interesting. Humor, dialogues & missions are top notch. Having completed RDR2 before, it's obvious to find RDR1 somewhat shallow than its prequel, especially in terms of horse riding and world AI.

What surprises me is the business decision of Rockstar. RDR2 already had entire Austin map ready, they could've invested more in developing Mexico and characters related to RDR, and it would've been an excellent remake in new engine. (But yeah, they had to make their investors happy and develop a game [cough cough GTA VI] that can milk millions)

Anyways, I didn't regret paying full price, it was totally worth it, as i never played it before.

9/10 would recommend the game. One point less for horse-riding & other misc mechanics.
