for anyone that cares about achievements: it's NOT completable at the moment due to the latest update.

I was already done with islanders on 100% months ago, however there was a content update recently - which is great! - that introduced some new achievements aswell. one of them is simply not doable (currently still sititng at 0.0% global completion) without any external meddling with the files. unfortunately the devs know about this but haven't fixed it yet. it's still a good game, just a heads up for any completionists!

it's got a bit of a learning curve to it and I would recommend playing with mouse and keyboard to make things as efficient as possible. once you get the hang of it though, it's fun and easy enough. don't get frustrated early on :)

as is common for sokpop, it's a cute and casual spin on a classic genre. minimalistic city building meets tower defense.

unique, whimsical, and so charming. love the real-time mechanic, wish more games made use of that!

and for anybody asking themselves "should I get this if I already have animal crossing?" - so do I and they are certainly different enough to play both on a regular basis! chances are you'll love the additional story aspect as well as the fact that the island is slightly different every day.

I enjoy how complete this little game feels: it sets out to be a certain thing, namely a minimalistic civilization-building sim, and manages to be exactly that. the graphics and sounds are supercute and simple, for a very affordable price. I haven't discovered everything yet, but so far, "completing" one world takes me about an hour or less, so it's perfect for a short gaming session!
