When I first saw the trailer for this game, I knew that it was definitely going to be one to look forward to. And I'm really glad that I did so. The amount of gameplay formats that are sprinkled throughout this game is amazing, and shows how much video games have evolved, over the years. The story while very sad at very was incredibly engaging & kept me wanting to know what happens next. And the Friend's Pass for this game is genius & needs to be done more, for Online Co-op games.
If you haven't given this game a try yet, I high recommend that you should.

This game is almost the perfect game for any hardcore Sonic fan, or someone who wants to start off in the series. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous & every 2D sprite is animated very fluidly. The gameplay is everything one could want in a Sonic game. High speed that's easy to gain, tons of secrets & rewards everywhere, and a whole bunch of replay value with different characters to play as, different gamemodes to try & multiple endings to find. The entire soundtrack is conducted beautifully, with new & old tracks aplenty.

The only bad things I can think of is the lack of originality. There are 14 Zones in the game, and only 5 of them are brand new. The rest of the Zones existed in earlier Sonic games, and have been brought back. But despite that, this team of fans made sure that there are still tons of new things within those old Zones to have them be more fresh & exciting than ever.
Another thing that might be bad for others is that this game was developed by Sonic fans, for Sonic fans. A lot of things within this game that fans will really appreciate, will probably leave some newcomers confused. But despite that, I'm sure that anybody can pick up this game & have a blast playing all the way through.

This game may be the textbook definition of Nostalgic Pandering, but I still highly recommend picking up Sonic Mania as soon as you can (And maybe consider getting the Encore DLC with it, too). It is currently one of the best games in the entire franchise, and I cannot thank the development team enough for finally restoring Sonic the Hedgehog back to his former 2D glory days. I really hope they can make an original 2D Sonic game, in the future.

Congratulations, Monopoly Plus. You finally made me realise why Uplay is horrible, and Ubisoft sucks as a company... The online mode doesn't work at all, my friends kept getting disconnected before the game even started!

Please, do not buy this game!
