I got this game gifted to me and it's really fun - HOWEVER, I'd recommend waiting until it's on sale to purchase it. The DLCs are also a bit expensive so wait till those are on sale too. But yeah great game if you don't mind losing your sanity

exactly what it says in the title: hunting monsters in the wilds.

Joke review aside, it's a really strong RPG that highlights some of my favourite parts of Monster Hunter, those being the beautiful environments, incredibly creative monster designs, and a large range of weapons and armour to suit different situations and playstyles. It feels like a step in the right direction for the series, and while the combat is significantly easier than past games I wouldn't say that's a bad thing. It's accessible, which is nice for people who haven't played an MH game in a while (like me) or people completely new to the franchise.

I've heard about optimisation problems but I've found it runs fine (granted I'm also running a 4070, so take that with a grain of salt.)

My main complaint would be that the mechanics aren't made very clear by the tutorial - I don't mind using guides, but I find a game is better without the need to google some things. The menus could also use work, they're very hard to navigate, especially the multiplayer menu - which wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't for how central multiplayer is to a good experience post campaign. I'm hoping these issues will be fixed as the game is continually updated. I'm also sure we'll get some harder quests with whatever DLC they plan on dropping.

The campaign itself is fine, nothing groundbreaking but it's not terribly written.

Overall a very fun experience, recommended for casual fans or new players of MH.

It's a dated piece of software - which is absolutely perfect. It'll run on most machines and it has well enough functionality to create wonderful and interesting games. Although free alternatives definitely exist, RPG Maker has a lot of community support, which is nice.

The multiplayer is so chaotic and so so so fun.

Seriously amazing game, and it's under a gigabyte. Pretty much anything can run it.
