Very good metroidvania with precision platformer mechanics. Great level design with lots of different challenges. Levels feel very polished and tested.
Movement gets really good at mid game and you'll be able to move with sharp precision.

There's a lot of ways to customise the game so you can make it very easy or brutally hard.

The last part was tough, my hands hurt and now I'm scared of trying the masochist mode (1 heart and 1 checkpoint). Took me 6 hours to beat it the first time (with 2 hearts and 2 checkpoints) and I died A LOT of times.

I'm not into precision platformers but decided to try the game for the exploration and abilities progression. I really enjoyed it and hope there's a sequel.

Wow, this is a cool game. I heavily recommend this game for Metroid fans.

I played it entirely in single player. There's a co-op mode (which can be activated any time during gameplay) and I've read it even encourages sequence breaking which is pretty cool, but I didn't get the chance to test it.

Controls seemed rough at start but are easy to adapt. They're just different from what we expect from playing other platformers. At end game you'll become very fluid and powerful. Be patient.

You have a buddy who can hack some enemies and scan the levels for secrets. I really liked the buddy because you can use it to plan ahead the route you'll take.

All weapons were useful through the entire game and changing different combinations was crucial to defeat the different kinds of enemies.

I won't talk about the lore and the story because I'm into the genre completely for the exploration and skill evolving. It's a cool world, tho. An underground ruin with unknown technology and you help an enslaved population.

It has cloud saves (quite rare in Fusion games!) and supports XInput. You can change the button icons to your taste: it has Xbox, PlayStation and Switch icons.

There's a very useful wiki site[www.outbuddies.com]. Be sure to read it as it contains detailed explanations about the different mechanics in the game and has Boss tips. It also explains how to activate debugging functions in the game so you can provide better feedback about specific rooms if you need to.

There's no map markers to direct you where you should go next (objectives on the map). It can be a negative point, but for me it's positive. It's personal taste. Map markers can make the ride a little too linear, which is a gripe I have from the Ori games, for example.
I have read some reviews bashing the backtracking but it's just a side-effect from the genre. I got lost and stuck maybe twice but backtracking from there was not that frustrating because the branches weren't that big or numerous.
If you're not that patient you can save at a safe point, explore and reload the game so you won't have to backtrack all the way back if you get stuck.

The only negatives I'd point out:
- if you charge your fire button, release it and then press it again very shortly it won't register your release. I guess it's an engine's limitation. It's not game breaking but surprised me in some fights.
- You can't toggle the sprinting function, I played most of the game holding L2 to run.

I see the game took A LOT of work and can see the dev's love for the genre poured into this project.
I'm very impressed and hope to see more works from the developer.

I joined for the arcadey gameplay, but stayed for the procedurally generated industrial hardcore music.
The trailer describes the gameplay pretty well.

You can download and play it completely for free on its webpage[anuke.itch.io].

Amazing soundtrack.

Considering the price, I'm disappointed by the quality of the provided files.
They're encoded in 256 kbps CBR.

Please provide lossless audio files or at least encode them at a higher bit rate like 320 kbps.

I can't recommend at this price. (It's painful for me to give it a no, Kirkhope and Wise are some of my childhood heroes.)

A parte do combate achei completamente raso e trivial. Pode acabar decepcionando jogadores que estão procurando por um combate mais profundo.
