I love the cyberpunk genre, I'm always craving more of it...
And I really wanted to like this game...
It's visually enjoyable...
And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you can tell they put love into it...
But the poorly polished gameplay, irritatingly conceived platforming, and badly planned out traps mean that it's just not fun to play.

Maybe I'll come back again later and give it another go... but thus far, I really can't recommend it.

Great mod. Highly recommend, even on a first playthrough of Deus Ex.

Don't mind the play time, I didn't play it on steam.

Don't bother with this game. It's inferior to both Deus Ex and Human Revolution. It's not worth playing on it's own merits, and it's not worth playing to complete the franchise. Just skip it and move on, you are losing out on nothing.

I loved the original Deus Ex as well as Human Revolution (we don't talk about the dumpster fire that is Invisible War) and was champing at the bit for a new installment in the franchise.

To be entirely fair, the game gives more of the same level of gunplay and pretty graphics as HR, as well as much of the same choices in mission completion as DE and HR.

The issues lie elsewhere.
Firstly, The world and atmosphere doesn't feel as strongly conveyed or immersive as it's predecessors... it feels a bit more... hollow.
Secondly, it's themes were clumsily delivered and really felt like ham-fisted moral preaching.
Thirdly, it sold itself as giving you more control over your ability to choose what factions you support. That was effectively a lie.
Fourthly, microtransactions (what the ♥♥♥♥)

It also shares issues I had with HR that are admittedly a bit more about personal taste -

Honestly? Just replay Human Revolution or something. Don't burn the cash.

Phenomenal game. It's gunplay is great, story is well done, flexibility in mission completion is pretty decent, and over all look and feel is just wonderful.

A great old classic. Definitely worth sucking it up and dealing with the dated graphics.

The action, themes, choices... it's really a masterpiece of it's era, standing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of System Shock 2 and Half Life.

Get the Revision mod.

On one hand, the entire time I was playing the game, I was wishing I was playing Escape from Tarkov, or Deeprock Galactic, or even Borderlands 2... Or hell, even Space Beast Terror Fright.

On the other hand, paywalled just to get more of the mediocre feeling content.

I want neither of those hands.

It looks pretty though? But a FPS co-op game with which to play with my friends... I want it to either give me a lot of FUN like Deeprock or Borderlands, or lots of high-tension adrenaline like Tarkov or Space Beast.

Destiny 2 delivers neither.
