My first AC game and it scratches the mech itch I've had for years now but haven't been able to satisfy until now

An improvement in gameplay and visual fidelity from MW19, but a pretty big downgrade in UI/UX, at least at launch. There have already been improvements but needs a few more updates to be up to snuff with its predecessor.

Still great, mindless shooter fun for when you just wanna click some heads

Fantastic MMORPG, up there with Guild Wars 2 and Star Wars the Old Republic.

Tons of story content (hundreds of hours), well polished boss and raid mechanics and satisfying combat rotations.

The story and leveling experience are both incredibly dull until after level 50 so I encourage everyone to at least get past that and hit 60 (which is totally free in the trial version) before forming an opinion on the game

UPDATE: Trial goes to 70 now! Even more worth it!

By far my favourite souls-like, more than the souls games themselves. Combat feels amazing, with so many moves and combos to perform. Each weapon is distinct and every has three different stances, making it perform differently even as you effortlessly chain between them. Abilities, Onmyo magic, and Ninjutsu all feel fun and satisfying to use. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a more action-packed but still story-rich souls-like.

UPDATE: I am now 86 hours into the game and have only just completed the main questline (I also did all of the side missions). Enemy and boss variety was fantastic. It can be tough to fight the same bosses that you struggled with in the main missions when you re-encounter them later but usually you'll have mostly learned their attack patterns. Slightly disappointed with the relative ease of the final boss compared to some of the earlier bosses but could also be affected by how much better I got at the game.

Upon game completion, you can play through again to earn better gear (Divine/Green rarity) and fight more difficult versions of the same enemies. I am just about to start the DLC as I don't really care much for NG+ style modes (unless the game is short) so we'll see how that goes.

UPDATE 2: As of ~100 hours I am on the last boss of the Tengu's Disciple DLC and am enjoying but still struggling with the fight. The previous bosses were all engaging and interesting to fight with the exception of one human which was easily beatable. The new enemy types in this DLC certainly require a different playstyle than I was employing in the base game but it feels refreshing and none feel totally unfair.

Score - 8.5/10

Pros:
-Awe-inspiring exploration
-Fun, easy flight controls
-Lots of progression (non-mandatory, however)
-A decent main storyline
-VR Support
-Great to play with friends
-Tons of things to do and ways to play
-Social hub with missions and research progression
-If disconnected from internet, game will still save and be available when you return
-Joining friends is super fast, don't even have to leave your game if you're already on a save you played together

Cons:
-Minor, non-game-breaking bugs. Usually easily fixed with re-log
-VR mode can be super laggy even with great hardware
-Have to start tutorial again for every new save

This game is not perfect. It has it's fair share of bugs even after 4 years of incredible, mind-blowing improvement. But you know what? It's damn good fun. I played the large majority of my hours with friends and it was certainly more buggy in multiplayer. Scrapped ships not de-spawning, storms only appearing for one player, and bases not properly synched between players. I can overlook all of these minor bugs though because the game gives a sense of wonder and progression I don't get from many other games. Additionally, every bug I've come across has some sort of workaround (although usually involves re-logging) and is never game-breaking. I've tried elite dangerous and that feels far more difficult and grindy. I love that no man's sky has a million things to do an discover but yet I am content building my base and discovering at my own pace. I don't feel forced to do any of the missions once I'm past the tutorial and when I finally do them I enjoy the content. Overall, the game is a great way to sink some hours if you wanna spend the time, but it's also fun to just hop on every new update and check out new content for a few hours.

Far Cry alone: Shoot enemy, capture base. Repeat.

Far Cry with a friend: Use ridiculous strategies to capture bases. Come up with intricate was to explode/murder enemies. Grapple from helicopters and fling yourself into the sunset. Spend hours not completing a single mission and beating each other up with various bats and other melees. Have fun.

10/10 would play with friend

I played for a while, got frustrated for the first 4 or so hours. Started thinking about my decisions and playing smart. Got pretty decent and had good fun playing for the final 5 hours. I recommend everything about this game except for two issues.

1. Peer to Peer servers. If you don't know what that means, it means that a player is chosen as the host and the others connect to that person. Overall, I only disconnect about twice, but I've got good internet so I'm usually host. No one seemed to disconnect when I was hosting.

2. Regular windows desktop cursor showing during gameplay. This bug is really minor but kind of irritating, It happens when you use Shift-F2 to open the Uplay overlay when you want to accept game invites or send them. Again, really minor flaw that could easily be fixed and could very well be when full game releases on February 14.

All in all, that game is really fun, the mechanics are awesome and the executions are brutal.

9/10 Just needs dedicated servers.
