I've done two 100+ hour playthroughs of this on PS4 and as of writing this 37 hours through one now on PC, and I'm still in the second chapter.

The first time I played through RDR2 I felt really frustrated because It seemed so close to being great but I felt like it had a lot of problems especially with the pacing of the story. Now after playing through it a couple of times, I have much more appreciation for it. I may even say its among my favorite games of all time now.

It has some performance issues but is within the margin of playable and at the scale of detail and polish it is trying to achieve I feel like its acceptable. When You compare this to current day Vermintide 2 it will feel content light, but the core game is very enjoyable, maybe more so than Vermintide 2. I'm really excited for Darktide's future.

It doesn't have the polish that a western AAA action rpg would have but it definitely rivals the biggest games in terms of stuff to do. It has an emotional and riveting, big, meaty, story, funny and touching side quests, lots of side activities and minigames including some management simulation, and on top of all that it has charm, heart, and humor. I cannot count the times this game made me say "awww..." or "oh ♥♥♥♥" or laugh my ass off.

For 20 dollars this has to be one of the best quality content to dollar ratios on steam.

Oh, also the game runs incredibly well on steam deck, you can get a rock solid 60 fps with good visuals on a 3 hour-ish battery life

Definitely a divisive game because it is a game that requires a lot of patience and observation to put up with some aspects some might find tedious. What won me over is the arresting art style and unforgettable set pieces. I wouldn't recommend this game to most people but if you have a strong stomach and can tolerate something that seems deliberately designed to confuse people then you might enjoy it also.
