I personally like being ranked per map in normal Competitive
I don’t make maps but the new Hammer editor seems fantastic to use

Cons:

Missing content and features:
No unranked competitive for Prime players - why should I have to make a smurf if I want some unranked practice?
No Workshop compatibility
No short match option
Community server browser is broken
Modes from CSGO are missing (Arms Race, Demolition, etc)
Too many maps missing (rip Cache)
Many settings from CSGO are missing (cl_righthand 0 for example)
They erased all CSGO achievements for absolutely no reason???

Networking:
The new networking system has a ton of technical issues and is especially worse if you don’t have a top-tier connection. 60 ping can feel like 120 and just feels worse than CSGO. Even on LAN you can still get shot behind walls (see Sydney tournament)
Player collision feels worse than CSGO

General Experience:
The Premier ranking system sucks right now
Official servers are still 64 tick
Anti-cheat is not improved in any meaningful way - additionally, people are getting VAC banned for ridiculous reasons (AMD drivers, having too high DPI/sens)
A 5v4 competitive match can still start for some unfathomable reason.

I think if you asked the community, the aspects of the game that needed improvement are better networking/servers, better matchmaking/ranking system, and better anti-cheat. I would argue that all of these issues are worse in CS2’s current state.

TL:DR
I think that a major tech upgrade was necessary and I’m excited for the future of CS2, but replacing CSGO with this clearly unfinished game is disrespectful to CS players. It’s baffling because CSGO wasn't struggling with players/viewers and was one of the most profitable PC games in existence. I don’t understand why they didn’t keep releasing betas until the game had more content and less issues.

Pros:
Halo on PC (now with mods, custom lobbies)
will run on many low end systems
some of the games have new content
steam workshop support

Cons:
default keybinds are not great
UI is sluggish and often confusing, which is a shame because the UI in original 3/Reach was perfection
in my experience campaign co-op was practically unplayable for non-host players

these games have relatively slow movement, weapon switching and personally I don't think that aspect has aged well, but I still have a ton of fun with them. gamers who didn't play Halo in its heyday may find this to be a dealbreaker, especially in multiplayer. controller players obviously have very strong aim assist, but I think one can play competitively with a mouse.

the good:
vibes all around - opening cutscene, the start menu, and the actual game

the bad:
controlling the skater often feels unresponsive and just plain frustrating. If the dev is reading, I think a good way to fix some of this would be to let the player press E or something to magnetize themselves to the surface they want to be on.

overall worth playing. I'd pay for a sequel if it got more polish

truly a blessed game, look at other games from 2004 and then look at this, it's amazing how technologically advanced it was for its time. gets a 10/10 for atmosphere, the visual storytelling used to portray an "alien-infested Earth being picked to the bone" still remains unmatched by modern games IMO; the only other game that matches is its cousin, Portal. it's not a flawless experience and it's arguable if the moment-to-moment gameplay and gunplay holds up, and many people prefer HL1 or other shooters from this time, but i've always enjoyed revisiting this and have played thru the core game twice. the Half-Life series laid the foundation for so many games that became cultural phenomenons, like Counter Strike, TF2, Portal, GMod. HL2 is an all time classic and anyone who loves video games should pick it up

best singleplayer FPS i've played in a long time. if you like fps games you cannot go wrong with this. ran around 120 fps on high/med settings on my mid-tier 2013 pc. multiplayer is fun for about 3 matches.

only complaints are that it doesn't lock the mouse into the game window correctly in either borderless windowed or fullscreen, so if you have 2 monitors the windows on your 2nd monitor might scroll around while you switch weapons. the movement is a tad too slow in my opinion, especially compared to classic doom. 9/10

not as good as BL2, still solid though. buy it if you've finished BL2 and feel like you need more, and buy it when the Handsome Collection's on sale for better value

i don't think this one holds up as well as borderlands 2, still alright tho
