one of the best new fps games in years, the main gamemode is super fun but extremely sweaty and not enjoyable to play with randoms

Campaign is very cinematic and has some super badass moments. Great level design and fun story. It is on the shorter side but I prefer that over something that overstays its welcome.

Multiplayer is endlessly replayable and scratches an itch for me that no other game does. The game isn’t dead by any means but sometimes you will wait 4 minutes for a match, and most people playing are really good so you will get stomped a lot. Because of the low population the community feels pretty tight knit and most people are friendly, which you can’t say about other matchmaking based FPS games. We need more games with crazy fast hard-to-master movement

TLDR Easily one of the best FPS games from the last decade. I regret buying Battlefield 1 over this in 2016 and I’m sad this game didn’t get the mainstream attention it needed to warrant a sequel

This is a really cool game, striking visuals and very cinematic, merges live action scenes and game cutscenes very impressively. i didn't understand the story at all because i was too stoned and took too many breaks between play sessions. Gunplay and movement is pretty standard third person shooter stuff but being able to fly around and throw stuff makes it more entertaining. def worth picking up on sale

I had a ton of fun playing this. I enjoyed most of the puzzles, they weren’t too hard or too easy. The new puzzle elements aren't revolutionary, but pretty interesting. The most impressive aspect of this is the levels, they look like Valve could have designed them. They upgraded the engine’s lighting so it looks way better than Portal 2, even though texture quality is the same. Certain areas look like a mix of Portal 1 and Portal 2’s visual style, a nice touch since it’s set between them. Soundtrack was really good and felt authentic to Portal 2. Took me ~8 hrs to finish, but I got stuck and stopped to look around a lot.

The only area this mod misses is the story. The structure is derivative of P2, won’t get into details but it lacked creativity. The main NPC’s voice and dialogue is so ridiculous and not in a funny way, I don’t know why they didn’t tell him to tone it down a few notches. This would be more tolerable if he said anything funny. The relationship between the 2 NPCs is awkward in nature and in execution. Ending was very abrupt. That said, the story is serviceable as an excuse to set up all these dope levels, and I enjoyed the game more with it, but don’t come into this expecting Valve tier writing.

TL;DR easy recommend to any portal fan, it obviously can’t match the original games but it’s still great, no other mod has made me feel like I’m back in Aperture like this did

Cold War is great but thanks to the DLC and workshop support, this is the definitive COD zombies experience. Good value at 20$ on sale.
