Early Access Review
Playing the early access version of the game, and it already is setting a new bar for single player VR gunplay. We need more games of this caliber in the VR scene. Kudos to the developers. Eagerly awaiting act two.

A pale shadow of a once great franchise. Corporate cash grab nostalgia bait at best, and poorly executed. I forced myself to play all the way through it, just to see if there was a glimmer of what used to be... but all I found was sad disappointment. Also, the voice acting was cringe.

I was expecting this game to be just a quick asset flip. I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of the story and interaction. Just a first impression. I'm not very far in it yet, but I look forward to exploring this game much more fully.

Great game. But there is limited content in the base game. It seems like they are focused on selling it piecemeal through DLC. I recommend it, and have played the base game multiple times. Just don't expect to get the full experience without dropping a premium price on extra content.

This game is great. You should buy it. Also, the voice actor who portrays the main character is dead sexy. At least, that's what I hear from all the ladies.

Outstanding game. I haven't had my Roguelike itch scratched like this since Angband. It even has a hunger option and permadeath option, if you really want to get into old school mode.

Fiendishly addictive. TinyKeep hearkens back to the method of gaming that started it all in the arcades. Permadeath. None of that pansy assed handholding and coddling that you find in so many modern games. This is pure, distilled challenge. Easy to learn, difficult to master. You can complete the game in a few hours... but you aren't likely to. You get one life, and have to bust out of a randomly generated dungeon. You encounter tougher and tougher enemies along the way. There's a real sense of accomplishment when you have a good run, even if you don't win. The game stays fresh due to the random level generation, and the fact that you're always finding quirky new ways to kill enemies or interact with the environment (my favorite is to get an enemy chasing me, then jump over a fire pit... knocking fire onto the ground, which the enemy runs into and burns to death). Lots of fun little details to discover.

The character design is charming as hell. And the audio and voice acting are all top notch. There is a lot of character and love put into this game. Sometimes the orcs dance when they're idle. Different types of enemies will often have conflicts and fight each other. What does that bubbling pot of green stuff do? (you'll find out eventually)

In short, I cannot recommend this game enough.

Early Access Review
Pretty sad what happened to this title. I bought it as an early access. It's barely playable, but has potential. The Double Fine cut production and ran with the money. The game went from a half finished Alpha test directly to a code complete product release in a matter of weeks? Sorry. Not buying it. Or, rather, wish I hadn't bought it. Double Fine once had a sterling reputation... it's gonna take a lot for them to recover from this one. I won't be giving them my trust any time soon.

Do not recommend.

Played through about an hour of Remember Me. Here are my first impressions.

The story and polish on this game are outstanding. I absolutely love the world and theme that they've created here. Unfortunately, I came to play a game, not sit through a ton of cutscenes. It seems like they drop you out of gameplay to watch a cutscene between every other step. It really breaks you out of your immersion in the world.

The camera and controls are absolutely horrible. Responsiveness is sluggish and the camera is all over the place, without any rhyme or reason. The combat system is both simplistic and confusing at the same time. I have no idea how they managed that one... it's like they were TRYING to create the worst combat system imaginable.

Very linear progression. You only have ONE path to follow... no diversion. It's completely mindless. The only challenge is getting the controls to work.

I do not recommend this game. It looks pretty... hell, it looks VERY pretty. But it falls flat in nearly every other area.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, Steam. I really wish you'd list when a game has an extra layer of DRM that I have to jump through to play the game. I had heard a rumor that Ubisoft had dropped Uplay from their games... so I took a chance and bought Assassin's Creed 2. Didn't see anything about Uplay listed on the store page. Unfortunately, it still fires up that crapware and makes me register with them in order to play the game.

My mistake for trusting a Ubisoft game and giving them a second chance... but I really wish you would mention this stuff on the store page. I seem to remember that you used to.
