Concerning the "shooting stars", according to the Qur'an,it says the lowest heaven has been adorned by stars that sometimes act as missile for the devils who eavesdrop on angels concerning the coming events on humans such as someone's future... Some devils have the ability to fly("aliens"),and in the olden days,even today in some regions of the world, they'll have a contract with a witch whom will pretend predicting your future if you visit them. Once you do and believe in them,then you have lost faith in the Almighty and believe in the witch doctors. Sounds like a fantasy but if you think about it, kinda makes sense. By the ways, Muslims also believe in some old Holy Books, mainly the Tourat, Psalms,Injiil/The Gospel and lastly the Qur'an. Even talks about how the sun and moon float on their own special paths (orbits) inside the firmament.
