Within the first cutscene, I came to realize that Devil May Cry 3 is the greatest video game ever invented. Everything after that only proved me right

I cannot sing the praises of this game enough. I went into this knowing next to nothing, not even knowing how well praised it is. This has become my favorite game. The story is interesting and quite grim. There are no cutscenes or excessive text. It doesn't try to be a movie, it's a very subtle and gameplay driven story. The Narrator's voice gives Morgan Freeman a run for his money. The gameplay is fun and stays fresh for the most part. Interesting enemies and lore. The art style is beautiful, I adore how the land forms at your feet.

And the soundtrack? Don't even get me started on the soundtrack. It is PHENOMENAL. I could listen to it nonstop. There is not a single song that is any less than the others. There are a few songs that have singers, which is usually a no-no in video games, but it suits the situation perfectly.

The one thing that really bothers me only applies to you if you want to complete every little thing in the game like I do. It's no problem if you're a "finish the story then I'm out" kind of person. But the grinding. To buy every upgrade for every weapon, you have to beat Who Knows Where many times, or replay New Game+ multiple times. It gets stale, but I need to beat the Calamity Cannon training grounds, dammit!

Bottom line, buy it. I'd wait for a Steam Sale (then again, I do for everything), but it's worth every cent. Supergiant Games deserves it so they can hopefully make more awesomeness. I can't wait to try Transistor.
