How can I not keep coming back to this game over and over, when the devs are consistently pouring so much love and care into this game, and adding new things and features which make the game better and better, while still preserving the same heart and soul of the game that we love it for. That is something you rarely see (if ever) with other modern games. This game is exactly what the gaming industry has been desperately missing for the past 10-15 years.

Easily one of the Top 3 games of my life.

My friend ate worms until he started vomiting all over the ship. He vomited in my face, which instantly made me vomit back into his face, which made him vomit back into my face again.
That was the hardest we have ever laughed our guts out over a videogame. My ab muscles hurt so much from laughing that my abs were sore for the next 2 days.
Not to mention that being drunk makes you play music off-key, and the priceless moment when my friend brought a powder keg onto the ship and we all thought it was a harmless barrel, so i slashed him with my sword while he was carrying the keg, and we both exploded along with our entire ship.
10/10 experience if you are playing with friends (and i highly recommend you play this with friends because it's exponentially more fun than solo).

Feels a bit smaller than the original game, and admittedly falls a little bit short in comparison to the glory of the first Subnautica. But that doesn't mean it's a bad game.On the contrary in fact, Below Zero is a great game, very engaging and fun.
However as I said, the original Subnautica is superior.
While I would give Subnautica 9/10, I'd give Below Zero an 8/10.
Overall, if you like survival/exploration sci-fi games with a mysterious and cool story and lore, then you'll absolutely love this game. But please play the original game first, because this is a sequel.
