Highly addictive for RTS, city/base(factory) builders, & resource managers in an open sandbox world. Plus trains & aliens. You have plenty of research objectives, then can build/create to your hearts content. Plenty of replay ability, from generating your own maps/scenarios, plus other community mods & scenarios. And the community; it just doesn't have multiplayer, but also a very creative & helpful community, with reddit/discord support, wiki, factorio blueprints, modes, scenarios, etc, etc. You'll start small with simple/spaghetti factories, then a main bus, then trains, to mega/giga factories. Good luck engineers, and don't forget you spoon.

Awesome for those that like to build, and micro-manage, tweak, and watch their minions react to different senarios. Easy to pickup and also a great workshop community.
