Only two game-modes, both survival style, but the controls gameplay music and art are polished to perfection and there is a great depth of content in the ship customization; each different part involves a different and viable playstyle. There truly are 125x2 ways to play the game. Coming up with strategies to suit different planes is fun! Missions, progression and unlockables are executed very well: you won't have to grind for parts, but you won't have everything dumped on you at once, and the harder missions are challenging without being frustrating.
It's a bit like Altitude, but in well-polished fast-paced shmup form. Far prettier too.

Excellent all around! The roguelike and shmup elements are tight and full-bodied unto themselves, and they harmonize more neatly than I had dreamed was possible. There's no shortage of content and the developers go above and beyond on community and modding support (modding is accessible from the main menu and you can start runs in developer mode), so I expect this will be a favourite of mine for a long time.
