Evoland 2 is a big step up from its predecessor. While Evoland 1 was more of a fun gimmick with little story, the sequel stays within the gimmick of progressing through the history of changes in JRPGs and builds it into a fully fleshed out game. The gameplay is done very well, even with pulling from all of the vast archetypes of games over the last 30 years, it manages to not get too bogged down in trying to implement too many features. Definitely worth a pickup for any JRPG fans.
