Some really nice aspects here, but the save limitations are unacceptable and make the game unpleasant to play.

Built a beaver-city. Built a dam and flooded the entire valley upstream.

Lots of replayability from fairly simple systems. An excellent "rogue-like-RPG-tower-defense". The latter half of a single playthrough can sometimes feel like a grind, but subsequent playthroughs are still tremendously varied

The perfect VR game for anyone with even a slight interest in music and rhythm.

And great developers who have continued to provide free (and paid) content and updates.

Very fun and trippy experience. There's nothing to do but sit/stand/whatever while the song unfolds around you, and that's great.

Even with the Rise and Fall expansion, this is not worth buying.

Civ 6, especially with Rise and Fall, does add some good new things to the franchise, but so many of the fundamental basics are missing, broken, or bad.

Everything about the diplomacy system is terrible. The notifications system is bad. The religion system is all-encompassing. City-states cannot be defended (which is a shame, since otherwise they're a big improvement over Civ 5). Quality-of-life in the game is poor (still no WASD panning, strange next-unit jumping, 50% chance of being able to issue a move order, over-reliance on mouse-over tooltips).

Play Civ 5 or an Endless game instead.

The main complaints I can come up with for this early-access version of the game are:
1. Not enough settings to tweak to modify game & difficulty (I'd love to be able to control the # of geysers)
2. Unclear expectations of how systems work (e.g. How much space will this building take? Where are it's inputs and outputs? How much power will it consume?)
3. Unclear duplicant control, mostly when priorities are assigned (e.g. Why is everyone peeing on the floor?! Because working on that new room had a higher priority than cleaning the toilet)

Cons aside, I keep spending far too long playing this game. It's great at mixing long-term objectives and short-term crises. Every solved problem opens up new opportunities and their own problems.

The ultimate yak-shaving game. Incredibly addictive. The graphics are very mid-90s 2D sprite style, but by the end of the game the sheer volume of sprites and... things going on is staggering.
